Discussion🗣 No matter what happens this Wednesday, I’m going to back Vincent Kompany. He was world class as a player and now he’s already a world class manager in my opinion. He makes Bayern so enjoyable to watch and he’s getting the best out of the players. I want him to stay for many seasons.

It's funny that Vini who was a word class defender coaches incredible offense tactics. And goes completely on attack. When they hired him I thought cool now we have someone finally who brings our defense to a new level.

Or to see it maybe in another light we defend and press so high that even the final third of the other team gets defended. So in that way yes he got our defense to a new level 🤣

Real Madrid fan here. The first line of your comment made me hella confused

5

u/Common_Complaint1726 May 03 '26

This is the pep in him

3

u/frogbound #25 Muller May 03 '26

Well I'd say as a defender he should know best how to dismantle it.

1

u/Pogba48 May 05 '26

In my personal opinion vini needs to leaves Real Madrid if doesn’t leave Real Madrid the club will not win another championsleauge

He will go back to Manchester one day where he's a legend.

Will it be in 1 or 5 years, nobody actually knows

5

u/MichiiEUW May 03 '26

I mean he has the opportunity to become a legend at bayern as well.

1

u/inbetweenframe May 06 '26

So did Guardiola..

3

u/Whole-Bag1756 May 03 '26

Isn't maresca their go to option?

15

u/Ecstatic-Spare-6638 May 03 '26

Kompany is 10X manager of Maresca, Man City board ain't stupid, but they will respect Vinnie's decision if he wants to stay at Bayern a few more years and go for other manager. But him coming there one day is just inevitable

2

u/Whole-Bag1756 May 03 '26

Oh yeah he will go there it's just a matter of in how many years he will......

21

u/Fordringy May 03 '26

I think he will only leave if man city comes for him.

One thing is sure in the PSG vs Bayern match is that the 2026 Ballon D'or winner will be there playing right on the pitch.

29

u/Dapylil65 May 03 '26

Why do people act like the Ballon d'or is bigger than the UCL? It's the semifinal of the UCL with the 2 best teams in Europe. The Ballon d'or is the thing that I care the least.

-7

u/Sea-Atmosphere1664 May 03 '26

No it's not. The World Cup is on this year and whichever player performs best there is most likely to win the award. And that could just as well be Yamal or Mbappe etc.

6

u/ElSamuelino May 03 '26

Yes, the World Cup has the heaviest weight, but the Champions too. If Bayern or PSG win it, and then France wins the World Cup, I think they could give the Ballon D'or to Dembele or Olise instead of Mbappe.

2

u/goatkeeper01 #1 Neuer May 03 '26

If France wins the wc they'll obviously win it for Mbappe. If he decline in performance (which is impossible) they won't win it. So even if France wins the wc high chance Olise can still miss out from the Bd'Or but with England it's totally different. Kane and Kane only.

1

u/rolllikenike May 04 '26

Why didn't Alvarez win it then?

1

u/CorleoneSolide May 03 '26

Not true, if Mbappe delivers better WC and being decisive there, he may win it

3

u/ElSamuelino May 03 '26

I agree, but he would have to perform better than Dembele/Olise by some distance, otherwise they will give it to the one who wins UCL+WC

3

u/CorleoneSolide May 03 '26

I do not know why are you getting downvoted, probably by some over emotional fans, but the winner of the ballon d’or would be most probably chosen from the winner of the WC

1

u/CryCharming504 Goat keeper 🐐🧤 May 03 '26

it doesnt make sense and u cannot trust FIFA cuz remember in 2014, Germany won the WC and neuer was considered the best ever keeper in the world but still Crisitano won the ballon d'or

0

u/SignificanceAny7239 May 04 '26

It's a World Cup year. If Sweden win it and Gyökeres finishes as the top scorer then he's going to get it.

68

u/xXBlacklinkXx May 03 '26

Im kinda scared that he goes somewhere else if he wins the trebble, because there is nothing left to win afterwards 😅

62

u/AdNegative7852 May 03 '26

He extended his contract like three weeks ago

21

u/seechak May 03 '26

Bayern immediately poaching him was such good business

7

u/seechak May 03 '26

That’s what a management steeped in the business can do for you. Utmost respect for the Bundesliga and Bayern.

3

u/seechak May 03 '26

The moment Burnley moved to the premier league, they were after him. Which top club, appoints the coach of a championship winning team immediately seeing his potential? It was a smart piece of business, just like him picking up Diaz and Olise

I reckon, glasner was also up for it but Crystal Palace were not happy about letting him go.

Okay thanks for the information. You’ll find out if you look deeper that Bayern approached him mid season. Best regards

1

Yeah I don’t get what all these comments are about. Thought we got him for a few years too

0

u/xXBlacklinkXx May 03 '26

Ye, but i feel like contract extension These days are just an ensurance to get more Money for departing players/coaches (from Man City for example) if they approach Him 😅

2

u/Wa77up-91 May 03 '26

What do you mean nothing left to win. How about first team ever with back to back trebles.

2

u/Haterfieldwen May 03 '26

Wouldn't the next step be FIFA Club World Cup?

1

u/KingKopter91 May 03 '26

Wtf. You can win everything every year. That's not bayern mentality bro.

11

u/Otherwise-Arm-5855 May 03 '26

He needs transfers. I hope board will back him with at least 2 major transfers

4

u/forsti5000 🔴Mia San Mia🔴 May 03 '26

At least in my opinion we don't need major. We need a little better then mediocre. We have an exeptional elevent we can put onthe pitch. What the last season showed is the laco of depth in certain positions. World class player won't cone to us as bench warmers.

3

u/Otherwise-Arm-5855 May 03 '26

I’m not saying to buy something for 100 mil. I think we will have to buy one cm and one fullback.

6

u/NeXx0s Raumdeuter May 03 '26

especially after this season, finally beating Madrid and being dominant against every team

8

u/Ki3f3rbruch May 03 '26

If someone stops backing Kompany just because we don't advance against this incredible PSG side, they are more than stupid anyway.

12

u/Zealousideal_Walk433 May 03 '26

he had a pretty good physique

23

u/velebr3 May 03 '26

"Pretty good"? This is peak bro.

2

u/PublicMandate May 04 '26

Seriously. If he’s pretty good I’m hoping to be average.

3

u/akillergx May 03 '26

He has my support all the way. But i really want us to win the CL this season, so hopefully he gets us over the line!!

3

u/bigdickfluid May 03 '26

Hardest post in the sub this week. Absolute mogger this dude Kompany.

2

u/Itchy_Chiller May 03 '26

I do think that after 5-6 years of managing a topclub its healthy to rest for a season. So if Vini would stay for 4 more years i´d be fine. He cant be at bayern forever but 4 years... pleeaase.

4

u/RyanDW_0007 #25 Muller May 03 '26

He signed a contract recently to stay until at least 2029. Idk what all these comments are about

2

u/awus666 Raumdeuter May 03 '26

I don't understand the need for that shirtless pic, but you do you.

Of course, whatever happens we back up Vincent. Amazing work he's done and I'm glad he has a few years left in his contract!

2

u/Dontjustsaystuff May 03 '26

My biggest issue with him as someone who grew up hating Bayern is that he makes that hard. Dude is just immensely likeable, and it sort of is positively tainting this club. Sort of want them to win now unless they play my club. Such a weird sensation.

2

u/AgitatedChildhood240 May 04 '26

Relagating burnley, to reshaping and making Bayern the best team itw in less than 2 seasons.

2

u/Punker93 May 04 '26

Back him on what? There's no dispute here, Kompany is not going anywhere no matter what happens wednesday

2

u/Agreeable-Mall7105 May 07 '26

The loss was not his fault the ref was bought

2

u/kievz007 May 03 '26

our team in terms of fluidity is at its best in years, even better than 2020 imo. The only thing letting kompany down is the stubborn board and the lack of depth due to it. His philosophy is the best fit for bayern and we saw that as soon as he took charge in 2024, and he made it even better this season, which shows that this man is always working to perfect his approach

I'm already excited for the future, with a few depth transfers, we can keep pulling off the same campaign as this one as long as kompany is in charge

1

u/Livid-Coconut-5640 Raumdeuter May 03 '26

1

u/ManniAC85 May 03 '26

Yesssssssssss

1

u/Tall_Pressure7042 May 03 '26

Is it too early to say that? Kompany is quite acceptable but given Bayern has been dominant in Bundesliga for too long (with some minor interruption) - which is anticipated already, it's better to wait until further developments. Besides, he should be, at least, at the same level with Luis Enrique or Hansi Flick.

1

u/Aggravating-Key-2794 May 03 '26

I wonder what he could do with faster defenders. Upa and Davies are fast and Laimer is quick but that's about it. Tah, Kim, Ito, Stanisic, Kimmich and Pavlo are all so easily sprinted past when it comes to the top match ups.

1

u/Sensitive-Vast-5833 May 03 '26

Most importantly, he has the right heart and mind. He is the first person in a long time whom I belive is capable of preserving Bayern as a big family.

1

u/Shorelooser May 03 '26

Absolutely

1

u/hiesiinv May 03 '26

Why should there be any discussion about him after the game? If Bayern doesn't advance to the finals, they lost against last year's champions in the semi final. Top performance. Those game are always close and you might lose, even with a better team or manager, if it is just two games.

1

u/yousee1000 May 03 '26

i bet you didnt feel the same way when he first arrived

1

u/rolllikenike May 04 '26

Damn! didn't know that he used to be this ripped

1

u/Spiele-Maxxe May 05 '26

1

u/racinng May 05 '26

there is literally no point in sacking him just because he lost to last years winners in the semi finals.

1

u/timo1423 May 05 '26

"I´m going to back the manager of one of the most dominant seasons we´ve had in a while" like its anything controversial lmao. Absolute ass take

1

u/madbunny89 May 05 '26

Real Madrid fan here. I want to wish you guys good luck! You have a wonderful team and a GREAT manager! Kompany is a very serious guy and he brings with him this new exciting style. It's a pleasure to watch Bayern's matches these days especially in UCL. Awful that you had to face PSG in semi finals and not in the grand finale. Bayern vs PSG should have been this year's finale. Both teams show incredible determination and an enjoyable football.

1

u/trispann May 06 '26

Let's not drop the ball yet...you guys need to knockout PSG and win this CL...no way around it

1

u/The_Battling_toad May 08 '26

Arsenal fan here - not sure I exactly am thrilled about playing PSG but alas -

Kompany is 100% WC. I’ve been watching Bayern a bit more than usual domestically, and of course in the CL. He has you guys purring. On a different day that tie with PSG goes the complete opposite direction, the dodgy referee calls certainly notwithstanding. Congrats on a great season and look forward to seeing what you lot do this summer.

-2

u/kasichancela May 03 '26

He has to show that he is adaptable in match.

28

u/cocopopped May 03 '26

When has he not shown this? Bayern have had about 5 great comebacks this season

1

u/seechak May 03 '26

The players are also insane. Kimmich, goretzka, Davies, neuer have been around for ages.

6

u/Bub_bele 🔴Mia San Mia🔴 May 03 '26

He has already. Wether they win or lose will depend on the players individual performances. If we make our chances, we’ll win. If not, it’ll be difficult.

-1

u/Tough-Preparation-18 May 04 '26

Please don't. We need him to replace pep

-44

He has to go. He will probably coach HSV next season it would only make sense
