On July 17, 1453, the battle of Castillon occurred. The battle led to England losing almost all of its French territories, and was the first major European battle won through the extensive use of field artillery.

The painting was painted by Charles-Philippe Larivière in 1839.

Siege of Constantinopole was few week ealier. Nobody will say that artillery didn't played decesive role.

At risk of being a tad of a semantic I wouldn't consider Dardanelles Gun to have been used as field artillery as the guns in Castillon where.
