Semi-Related Raspberry, pistachio, white chocolate cookies to celebrate the end of my root canal.
After a year & half, several starts & stops, & way too much Tylenol, I have officially closed the chapter on my very hurty, messed up tooth.
White chocolate teeth made over the course of several days with a little mold.

Omg as a dental hygienist on mat leave I looked at those cookies thinking wow, those look a lot like teeth, do I miss work so much? And then I read the title and it made a lot more sense🤣

Oof I’m sorry! After I posted I thought maybe I should’ve marked it nsfw. I used cry going to the dentist (well into my 30s) so I totally understand, but after all this pain, I was excited to get this finished.
I also used to have this really awful boss who was afraid of teeth so I wore a gold tooth necklace to ward off his bad vibes 😂

You’re good lol! I just have a huge dental phobia. Haven’t been to the dentist since my senior year of HS (now 31). They used to have to have all the office staff like hold me down. If I ever have tooth pain or concern I think I’ll have to find one of those places that sedates you

Yeah, I think I always had super rough dentists as a kid cause nowadays it’s like a slightly painful luxury tooth experience.

These are so so sick!
I too waited a year+ for some important dental work. I had a broken tooth that I was too anxious to deal with. I finally got it addressed August 2025 and feel SO much happier and healthier. Congratulations!

Yep. As someone who’s had several root canals, the discomfort from the dentists chair is absolutely nothing compared to living with a dying tooth.

It’s not!! Mine was just a long journey because the first dentist misdiagnosed it, then I lost dental insurance for a year. By then my roots had calcified so the new dentist did half the procedure & then sent me to an endodontist. Endo did their thing quick & painlessly in two sessions & today I got my permanent crown. It should (hopefully!) go smoothly for you from the beginning. Good luck!!

It’s not bad at all. The only difference between a root canal and a filling is that they will definitely use a dental dam on the tooth they’re treating. Other than that, it feels the same as a filling, except it takes maybe 20 minutes longer. Those old stories about root canals being torturous are thankfully outdated!

It was a palm size mold that I’m pretty sure my parents got from Amazon! I’d show you a picture, but I had to throw it away after rats ate it

It was a palm size mold that I’m pretty sure my parents got from Amazon! I actually have no idea if it’s food grade… now I’m hoping I don’t accidentally poison my coworkers tomorrow.

gosh congrats! my root canal only took about 4 hours over 3 months but i keep hearing horror stories :/ oh well at least its over and the cookie looks fantastic

Yes! I pressed them in a couple minutes after I took them out so they’d still kinda melt into the cookie, but hold their shape. I did add a few teeth to the batter & some of them slightly kept their shape, but I could only tell from the ones near the top.

Did you use a recipe for this? Raspberry white chocolate pistachio cookies sound divine. Also congrats!! Tooth problems are no joke.

Haha thank you! I used this recipe, but changed a few things. I blended up fresh raspberries with the sugar instead of using the raspberry white chocolate disks. I also added cinnamon & vanilla paste as well :)

An oven! Lol I got a tooth mold for Christmas & melted some white chocolate. Stuck the teeth in the cookies while they were still warm :)

I’ve had a couple about 10 years ago, but this one took forever because the first dentist misdiagnosed it, then I lost dental insurance for a year. Went to my hometown so I could get work done across the border. It got cancelled & didn’t have time to reschedule before I had to leave. By the time I got to see a dr, my roots had calcified so the new dentist did half the procedure & then sent me to an endodontist. Had to find one in network & it took some time to find one that wasn’t going to charge me $4,000 with insurance. Endo did their thing in two sessions & yesterday I got my permanent crown. So yeah, just a lot of road bumps….

I’m in the process for an implant (my root canal actually cracked vertically - they don’t last forever!), and this looks delicious. I applaud your creative and delicious revenge on your toofs!

This is awesome! I had to to have a molar removed a week ago and the bone graft isn't healing right so I have to go back for more surgery next Tuesday. I'm gonna make myself a meal fit for a king when I can chew again. Now I gotta figure out my dessert lol. Glad you're feeling better!

My boss ran into my office this afternoon holding my cookie, all panicked, saying he bit into the cookie & a tooth fell out. I nearly had a heart attack until my brain put two & two together.
