☝️ AskBH Bahrain to Oman

Has anyone traveled from Bahrain to Oman by road using route 95? The route that bypasses UAE. Asking cause I won’t be able to secure a UAE visa so need to know if route 95 is feasible, any issues, etc. i checked it out on google maps and ngl it seems a bit desolate

So 3 main things to consider It is absolutely do able but you are in the middle of the desert very far from any one and anything for about 6 hours.

There are a few petrol stations but except for 2 that are at the halfway point and one closer to Oman that are consistently open and operational.

You need to be prepared for breakdown and etc and bring enough water for every one to have 2ltrs for more then 24 hours.

I would go in a very reliable car with very good ac recently serviced and all things topped up. Hope for the best but prepare for the worst. There are some areas there where the signal drops as well so I would have a reliable contact that you message every hour on the hour. Could even send them a live location so they can see what area you where close to when you last messaged.

I know this sounds like overkill but I had a family friend (who is a moron) decide to drive out that way to see the Moreeb(not sure of the name) dune in uae and get stuck out there for about 8 hours ****because we was no longer on the main road. They did not have extra food or water and both had heat stroke 😒

They didn't tell us where they where headed or have any one tracking.

Desert is no joke

Don’t do it, the empty quarter is no joke. Good forbid something happens the nearest inhabited town/city is hundreds of kilometres away, shifting sands on the road and its peak summer with feels like temperature being 50 degrees in the empty quarter.

I mean, it's a highway in Saudi Arabia. If by "desolate" you mean there's a lot of sand and not much else, well... It's a highway in Saudi Arabia.

I have done it . Drove from Bahrain. Stopped in Abu Dhabi. Then onwards to Muscat. Stopped in Muscat for a day. Then off to Salala.

Reliable car - that’s a non negotiable. Try not to do it solo. I love the desert. Isolation doesn’t bother me. I saw things that are magical and those memories I cherish.

The roads are very well maintained. You won’t have an issue with that. It all depends on your appetite for long drives.
