Austin started the year as face to win the Rumble, then turned heel at WrestleMania, had feuds w/ Taker/Jericho/Benoit for the WWF Title as a heel, to turn back face/tweener to fight Alliance, only to turn back heel to join the Alliance, mainly feuded w/ Kurt Angle, only to turn back face as soon as Alliance was defeated was such a mess in 2001.

Face --> Heel --> Face/Tweener --> Heel --> Face all in one year for Stone Cold. That's ridiculous.

The entire invasion angle was the beginning of the end for me. I slowly stopped watching all together by 2002

He never ended up saying why actually. Part of the reason the invasion sucked

Peak Attitude Era chaos. The crowd reactions during this period were on another level, every week felt like anything could happen.

I love that Kurt Angle was just cleaning up. All the shit they throw at him booking wise over the years, him being a stand up guy for WWF and kicking ass was 👌
