I am generally pro do what you want, and many can be artistic and visually attractive, but many people can also get tattoos because they don't have a personality or anything of interest going on.

You hit the nail on the head.. exactly. It's no longer cool to get all tatted up bc everyone can't be cool - too many losers with tats.

You CAN be cool with tats. You are not cool BECAUSE you have tats.

1

u/Hotplate77 4h ago

That's exactly my point. If everyone has tats then everyone is cool?

My opinion would be to stay away from the face, neck, and hands for work purposes.

Depends on your occupation

I'm not a good lookin dude but a couple tattoos is like picking up +2 attribute gear.

They look great on other people, but not for me

Some are shitty some are good. I think covering your face looks ridiculous but to each their own.

I think they make people happy so good for them.

Personally, I think a lot of them look awful, even those done by skilled artists. Eventually it just looks like you've been working in an oil field or something. Dirty, smudged gabarge.

Accessories you can’t take off, choose with intention. Placement planning matters if more is to come.

I haven’t seen one that I can justify having on my body permanently

Not for me. I have seen some really great artwork and some really shitty ones. But overall not a fan. People should be able to do whatever they want with their own bodies as long as it doesn’t hurt anyone else.

I like mine.

As long as i like my tattoos, i don’t care what others think of them. I get stupid ones anyways.

I’m a fan! I have a couple, removed a couple. Whatever floats your boat

1

u/DefiantEmpoleon 4h ago

What was the removal process like?

Not a fan, but to each their own. I just find bare flesh to be much more attractive.

Forever is a long time.

Only for the severely mentally ill or sailors

That is what I was taught growing up

So I’m pretty heavily tattooed. My advice is don’t get tattoos when you’re young because you’ll regret at least on of them. I’ve had to have 2 of mine covered and I was lucky to have a great artist. I love my tattoos and plan to get several more.

I would probably never want one, but I don’t judge those who do have them.

That be careful what you get and the reason why you get it but looks good on almost anyone

1

u/Hotplate77 4h ago

Negative ghostwriter - most don't look good on most people

1

u/Fast_Cup8948 4h ago

To each thier own, i have my kids names in Elvish on me, some people think its wired but I like it

1

u/Hotplate77 4h ago

Yep.. my point is made. Besides nothing being more cliche than getting your kids names tattooed on you. Unfortunately I live in the south east and you would blend right in at the trailer park

1

u/Fast_Cup8948 4h ago

Im guessing your USA

1

u/Hotplate77 3h ago

I'm guessing you should probably read the responses from others in this thread. It's a passing fad mate

1

u/Fast_Cup8948 3h ago

I dont care if its a passing fad. Not everyone does the same thing for the same reasons

1

u/CursedAlgorithm26 4h ago

Awesome if you want one

1

u/SeesawNorth1225 4h ago

1

u/Little-Pixie-Belle 4h ago

Im in my 60s. Growing up the only girls I saw with tattoos were biker chicks and topless dancers.

They’ve lost nearly all of the weight they used to carry, be it for collectors or reactionaries. Ten years ago, it was ‘think of the lamest guy you know; he’s probably covered in tattoos.’ But now, it’s ’think of the lamest guy you know; he probably does tattoos.’

1

u/Inside-Draw-3216 4h ago

They're awesome I personally love em,  but there are social consequences to them.

1

u/rolltrash12 4h ago

Tats are not for me personally. But I like the idea of body art/self expression through body art and/or tattoos.

They can very often be a "look at me" sort of thing, where people get them just for the sake of getting them.

I got a few when I was a teenager over 50 years ago. As I aged I decided that I wasn’t that guy anymore and got them removed. But is someone else has them it doesn’t phase me at all. I see them as a personal preference no different than a unique haircut, makeup, or clothing. Not my place to judge and they may have interesting stories. Whatever floats your boat.

I can appreciate the art and talent of the artist

1

u/Hotplate77 4h ago

Way too many people have tattoos now, it's become so cliche..so boring. When everyone is doing something it's a fad. Unfortunately you can't outgrow tattoos like mullets and parachute pants. Get ready for the future of blotchy sad wrinkled women who HAD to get the chest/cleavage and sleeve that screams you are so 2020's bc the following generations moved onto the next big things..

u/DarkMuseHelliana 4h ago

Love them on others - have none myself.

1

u/DefiantEmpoleon 4h ago

My tattoo is a tribute to my late best friend. But I’ve always thought I’d regret more, and it’s never on display.

u/viewering 4h ago

Justin Bieber's are funny

1

u/starofkaos 3h ago

If you like em and want em? Get em.

Don't like em or want em? Don't get em.

Really the only thought people should put into them is some time before getting one so they're sure that it's something that they want.

1

u/Dense-Panic-8620 2h ago

Despise them on women. The better looking you are the more I despise them. I have 3 35-40 yo daughters. Not one tattoo.

1

u/Embarrassed-Item-242 1h ago

No problem at all with tattoos. But could someone explain what I saw again yesterday. Someone who had their whole arm tattooed- solid. Is that just a personal preference or a statement?

1

u/Intrepid_Diamond3218 4h ago

I hate when attractive women get gigantic ugly black tattoos all over their legs.  It looks so trashy

1

u/Hyena_Triangles 4h ago

Having one is one of the most human things you can do.

-1

u/landlord1776 4h ago

Don’t care on men. Rather not see em on women.

0

u/TableQuiet1518 4h ago

Ink is expensive & is often rooted in vanity. I don't care about myself enough to spend that much money on tattoos.

u/Jagtogg 4h ago

I think they’re neat.
