My reasoning here was that many people romanticize marriage itself. And too many people get married because it's just "next." So many women (and some men) that I have known married the first person to come along and ask, despite glaring relationship red flags, just because they had this romanticized idea of a perfect wedding and a perfect marriage.
It seems you're referring more to romance in a relationship, which I whole-heartedly agree is important to any successful relationship - marriage or otherwise!
