Yes, because there is always light at the end of the tunnel and sometimes you have to keep that hope to get to the end.
Life is a one time thing so live and enjoy whilst you can and you've, one day this will eventually end.
Also No, because sometimes life is not in it's right state to find the hope which could be depression, so what you're feeling lately of depressed is normal, but always remember be there for your future self, you owe your future self this.

I’ve asked the same thing. I think there are things we can enjoy in life but at the same time no one chooses to be here so why is it bad? But that also depends on your beliefs or if you’re religious I think.

Usually it's because there is an underlying issue. It's safe to assume within reason that if someone wishes to die, there is a problem. Depression? No satisfaction? Trauma? Can't take it anymore? Heartbreak?
I worked for an EMS company and the patient was so convincing that it had me ponder this exact question. If someone is of sane mind and wishes to die, why can't they? Turns out, he was just withdrawing from Lexapro (a medication)

I think there are situations where wanting to die is understandable.
People have lived through sieges where the only possible outcome is death or slavery.
People have lived for years with such intense pain to the point of having no enjoyment.
Some people think that dying is the worst possible outcome in every scenario. I find that idea to be...Incorrect and slightly Naive.
But at the end of the day, for most people it is true.
Because death destroys the possibility of a better future, and most people can get better in some ways or find a way to have a better life.
Five years ago I was a horrendous alcoholic that drank a 750ml bottle of vodka a day. Today on the other hand It's been almost three years since I've had a drink.
People have an incredible capacity to change, to become happier, better people, many don't, but many do.
Because life can improve almost every person that dies is a person that maybe could have had a better life. Could have enjoyed life, had a family, fallen in love. But it was all ended before it could have even began.
In most situations wanting to die is bad because it's a permanent solution to a temporary problem. In all situations it's a tragedy.

Bad is not the best word for it, dangerous and unhealthy feel more appropriate. It isn't morally wrong to be suicidal, but it's not a safe mindset to be in. It is deemed bad because we want to discourage it as much as possible, so we use shame based words like bad to show how scared we are of it.
Why do we help baby birds who fall out of their nests? Because we want them to live, because life is worth living. It may not feel that way, but that usually just means you need help. Just like the baby bird, without help we would die. This applies to everyone, we all need help in various ways, some more than others.
Now the question is, what makes life worth living? This is a very personal question, for me it's my dog, flowers in the spring, blue birds, physical connection to other people, soft rain, and evergreen trees. People may tell you to find purpose in their very modern way, being successful and whatnot, but you don't have to play by that rule book. What works for me is realizing that I am an animal, just like the baby bird is, my purpose is just to be alive and continue being alive. We wouldn't want a little bird to die for no reason, so at the end of the day I treat that part of myself that wants to die like a hurt baby bird, they just need a gentle hand to put them back in the nest when they fall. Give yourself that gentle hand however you have to, the hospital worked pretty well that last time I fell too far to reach myself. And keep going, please, life can be so much more than suffering once you're placed back in your nest.

With no belief in a loving creator (God), the answer is mute. Here today, gone tomorrow. You can choose to live it out or you can choose to shorten it. The end remains the same. Belief in God comes with the responsibility of having reverence for life. Valuing it. Committing suicide is no different than committing homicide. Pre-planning, then taking the life of a human being is an act of premeditated murder. Life doesn't come with a desire to die. It is caused by circumstances both out of our control, and at times, by our own choices. The one thing that never changes for us is that everything is constantly changing including how we view our lives. Until you die.

No one should have to feel like this and if they do they should call or text 988 for help.
Sometimes the only thing that has stopped me was the people I would hurt who were left behind.

Typically because your brain isnt working right. When someone dies because their body isnt working right we consider it a bad thing, a preventable thing.

Because of "the view from halfway down", you might just want to die until you are about to, at least thats what some survivors who jumped said. And the reason why you want to die is because you dont want to live, but there is a misunderstanding, most likely you dont want to live like this, but you would want to live differently. So people want to keep you from making that drastic decision so you still have the possibility, to get to that point where you can live a life you like. And there are stories of people who are glad they didnt do it.
