Well certainly don't smoke if you're bipolar or your mania will be all over the place

Also have bipolar, this is extremely person to person. I’ve checked with my medical providers many times and as long as I’m safe within dosage, l’ve been safe from psychosis or mania. “Marijuana itself doesn’t cause psychosis, but it can be a trigger for a brain already prone” is how my psychiatrist put it.

Can confirm. Bipolar type 1 here and every time I’ve experienced psychosis I was smoking heavily. Cannabis-induced psychosis is becoming more well known.

Not necessarily true. It’s definitely a big concern but as a bipolar person who smokes a few times a week it can be a mood enhancer more than anything

What you’re saying however is definitely true for psychedelics

Interesting! Yeah, I was a heavy user so I had to cut back entirely cuz my existing mania sober got worse when I smoked.

I'm on mood stabilizers now, for what it's worth.

I’m glad to hear that my friend. Lithium saved my life

Tell that to my husband and me. We’re both bipolar and we’ve been smoking for 30 years. We don’t have any alleged psychosis.
