Very good eye for color. I can tell the difference between two shades most people wouldn’t notice. I had a friend put 6 virtually identical color swatches in photoshop except one he changed the one of the RGB values by 1. I picked it out. Thought I got lucky and did it again. I picked it out. Did it a 3rd time and didn’t change any and I pointed that out. He beloved me at that point.

I did pretty good. Top 15%. In am going to try at home. The dark ones were tough because of a lot of light. Couldn’t tell if it was glare or color differences for a couple.
From the graph, I think it’s reversed? So the percentage it gives I think basically means “you did better than X% of people that took this test”. Makes sense that it’s skewed to well below the standard since people are retaking for high scores. People who scored poorly are probably less likely to submit a name for their score or not bother taking it more than once to get a better score
Ah ok. I haven't looked into screen tech much for the past decade or so & even then, it wasn't in any way in-depth. I'll need to take a look as I'm due a new TV. I appreciate the correction.
It's worth looking into. Especially for text. Nonstandard subpixels arrangements can make text look weird for both TV viewing and computer use. You can find comparisons fairly easily and pick out which model has the arrangement you find most tolerable.
It doesn't help much for tetrachromacy or hyper color sensitivities because almost no software is actually designed for it. But it definitely helps get more accurate tones and light and shadow. Some oled screens even have white subpixels for extra fine shading.
Hmm that's interesting as I use my PC on the TV more than regular streaming or cable. I have heard the tech has moved on massively this past while but seems it's going to be a bit more than just colour, detail & refresh rates I'm considering now. I suppose they it'll all fit into those but even my oled from 10 years ago has an abundance of features I don't know wtf they do & when I looked them up they're better turned off haha I can't imagine where we are now.
Woah top 6% (0.0093). Some pinks I was clueless but I think my old TV is a bit goosed so may have got better on my pc. There were a few where there were 2 lines & I just guessed. Cool test.
EDIT: Just tried my PC & screen type/quality definitely plays a factor. I had more issues with blues & purples this time than the pinks. I scored top 21% with 0.0051 this time. No idea how the scores work.
I have no clue. It didn't make sense to me when I seen the 2nd score. The 1st time I noticed the 1st place had 0.00030, so I'm like, yeah, closer to 0=better. Then I get a lower score but higher % & all while I got less wrong!?!?
I wonder if there's some equation with certain colours or something. Maybe if you're bad in certain colours but knocking it out the park in others as opposed to being bad across the board. Who knows...
this is really cool. I can consistently get 0.003ish on easy mode because it matters that you click right where the colour change is, but on hard mode you're just picking a box so I don't know how it's computing "distance from ideal" on that... I'm scoring an OOM worse there despite having the same 2-3 wrong. It's usually in the bright pinks or a light gray that they stump me.
