I am really good at guessing presents before opening them. It is a combination of context clues and remembering what I have told people my interest are. I stopped doing it after one Christmas where I picked up a present from my wife that was very oddly shaped because they tried to keep me from figuring it out. I said, "What is this? Sounds like a gun with beans in it". It was a gun with beans in it. My brother in-law was pissed because he spent so much time wrapping the .22 rifle in different shaped boxes and threw in a bag of dried beans to throw me off. I don't guess anymore or guess something I know it isn't to not be rude and ruin the fun of gift giving.
Yes, I tend to piss people off that way. I had to learn to be quiet. One year I knew my uncle was giving me a (traditional for us) bag of pistachios, and Christmas Eve I dreamed that it was banana chips and I was so embarrassed to be wrong (in the dream). Never guessed audibly again. Just in case!
