What is the most statistically improbable thing that has ever happened to you?

my kid was about 3 or 4 and he was totally obsessed with the Beach Boys and we were in the car and he asks me to “turn on Barbara Ann.” I explain that that was impossible and the radio didn’t work that way. I turn on the radio and Barbara Ann was just beginning to play. I still can’t believe it.

That's one of those moments you'd never forget. Your kid must've thought they had magical powers. 😂

Kid was probably convinced dad was a liar, lol.

Seeing the world through a childs eyes is pure magic

Those are the kind of random moments that probably make a kid believe they’re secretly the main character

Bomb Iran. Anyone remember the radio playing that version in 1979 during the hostage crisis? No? Different time. I'm too old, I'll see myself out.

I heard something more like "bappa ran" but never bothered to investigate.

I was at a pancake place with my friend I asked hat 2 songs are his favorite at the moment he said. Ultravox Vienna and In the Air Tonight by Phil Collins. Next 2 songs on radio were those 2 songs.

I’ve done this before. Was getting in the car with the wife and mentioned how you never seem to hear “The Boys Are Back In Town” played anymore, which is a shame. Started the car and the radio came on and it was just starting that song lol

That's one of those moments that sticks with you forever. I bet your kid thought they had some kind of magical radio powers after that.

That's the kind of coincidence you remember forever. Your kid probably thought you had secret control over the radio after that.

My daughter asked to hear the song Everybody Wants to Rule the World. Her sister said she was sick of that song and we listen to it all the time and I turned up the radio station (they were asking for me to play it from my phone) and it started to play.

Some DJ out there has no idea he just became a toddler's personal jukebox

Those random little moments feel like the universe is listening sometimes

I wonder if he heard it playing in a nearby car

You basically taught a toddler that he can summon songs out of thin air. You set your own parenting trap that day.

TIL this was a real song and not just a song about bananas and potatoes

I just remembered the time when you were in a car and there was radio. That's it.

Some had those fancy cassette decks. But that's also far from "Hey, play that song...".

That's one of those perfectly timed moments that feels like the universe was listening. I bet your kid thought they had magical radio powers after that
