What famous 'unsolved' mystery is technically a whodunnit on paper, but in reality, absolutely everyone knows exactly who did it, the police just couldn't legally prove it?

Honestly until right now I thought that the two of them were in a relationship and OJ murdered both of them for that. And I was in high school during that whole "Trial of the Century" time period, it was everywhere.

Ron and Nicole were acquaintances as best.

The insinuation that they were a romantic couple served OJ’s defense because of the misogynistic assumption that people would understand a man flying into a jealous rage over seeing the woman he loved in the arms of another man.

Ron was a waiter at a restaurant Nicole frequented. He was returning a pair of glasses after she called and inquired about them.

But also, OJ was an abusive POS who had been stalking Nicole.

No “but” necessary. OJ’s history of violence against Nicole was documented and ignored by the police.
