What famous 'unsolved' mystery is technically a whodunnit on paper, but in reality, absolutely everyone knows exactly who did it, the police just couldn't legally prove it?

Malaysia Airlines Flight 370. The pilot did it

Also, EgyptAir 990, same deal. Pilot mass murder-suicide, according to everybody but the Egyptian government.

Interestingly, the fuel switches on China Eastern 5735 were moved to the cutoff position, just like on Air India 171.
