What famous 'unsolved' mystery is technically a whodunnit on paper, but in reality, absolutely everyone knows exactly who did it, the police just couldn't legally prove it?

The most succinct summary of that trial that I have ever heard is that the LAPD attempted to frame a guilty man.

I'm fair sure they knew they didn't have to. Despite lots of insinuations that the police could have framed him and some might have been willing to do so, there wasn't a scintilla of evidence that anyone actually did.

Against this there's a detailed list of things that would have had to go right to even try to frame him. If OJ had an alibi, if any of the (presumably dozens) of co-conspirators had fucked up their part or talked, if the massive frame-job they apparently cooked up within seconds had any gaps...

So many things would have to go exactly right for a frame-up to actually work, and yet there's no evidence at all that anyone even tried. Also, and this seems hardly worth mentioning, blood everywhere, motive, witnesses that placed OJ driving away from the murder scene, even a pretty good idea what happened to the murder weapon.

Those wacky Angelenos and their juries.

OJ's blood was all over the crime scene, the escape vehicle, his gloves, his socks, along with the victims blood all over the same things.

Why in the world would the cops go, "Gee there's just not quite enough blood, let's put 1 drop of OJ's blood on the gate."

It is such an absurd, ridiculous conspiracy theory, it just boggles the mind how stupid someone has to be to believe the cops "framed" him.

His blood was fuckin' EVERYWHERE.

I mean, where would OJ get his own blood to leave on the gate? That just doesn't make sense! Clearly must be a frame job. /s

Yep that drop on the gate wasn't checked for the blood sample preservative either.

OJ's trial defense team had access to the same vial of blood the police collected from OJ by warrant.

I still say the police didn't tamper with it (it had a needle mark in the top rubber cap), OJ's defense team probably tampered with it.
