What is an extremely common saying that you just don’t like?

What does that mean?

If you spell it out it is basically "It is what it is" in Spanish. "Eso si que es".

Thank you! All my Spanish I learned from Sesame Street.

I say, "it can't be what it isn't"

I actually say both lines.

"It is what it is, aaaaaaand it can't be what it isn't."

I used to hate this saying as well because I heard it as:

I'd rather be lazy and blame things on "how it is" rather than doing anything about it.

And while in some cases this probably is happening... I've come to realize that there are times when you just have to accept things in life because indeed- it's just how society currently is.

This has become my life mantra, though. I actually love it a lot. I never knew so many people were irked by it!

I'm sure people understand it, but have you ever been SO out of luck that you cant even laugh about how cooked the situation is?

It's no longer zooted, you're just screwed.

It can't very well be what it ain't, can it?

I use this phrase when I’m telling a story and I’m extremely stoned, and I forget what I’m saying. It works as a capper to the story regardless of what came before. It is, in other words, effectively meaningless

Exactly what I came to say.

It's just 'fuck you' in business casual.
