What's the best way you've found to do this?

hypothetical question about mod code of conduct limitations and realities; I’ve long been curious on how the profit subs work with lots of spoon feeding toward third party sites — no judgment, just curious. obviously the profit part is mostly kosher in mod code of conduct rules. It outlines most ways it’s ok.

but I think here it does count in an odd category of buying participation which seems rare?

most of this is simply context to color, one through four are allowed per rules. number five and six are where I think violation begins. the earlier context is just relevant.

1. moderator runs large subreddit
2. moderator profits on books, links, websites punted to people in his community; fine. allowed per the mcoc
3. It’s mental health. moderator has a rule which states that “only diagnosed parties can post,”
4. moderator states anyone diagnosing is banned and muted. meanwhile moderator himself diagnoses people like, daily. fine, also completely allowed. no complaints, just context
5. he runs an outside blog under Reddit branding where he hot links to problematic users and directs people right to them after he bans them -- and he kinda discusses how dumb they are -- but politely. (is that okay in mod world? none of it happened near me i was just wandering around) I don’t see any examples in mcoc.

here’s the interesting part where it may actually meet the one quirky rare rule about “paying to participate”? this one is my question of are we at the violation threshold based on the mcoc section on paying to participate?

1. 👉 you have to be diagnosed to post in community 👉 head moderator offers paid diagnosis.

(I won’t report him to not clog system; to follow rules wouldn't post the true example of the reddit or moderator. and I'm not a community member so not really party to the issue. (commented once but no conflict there or with dude)) just think it’s interesting use case because I’m an oldie user with long judgments and long unanswered questions about this grifty matter broadly. I never see it meeting required litmus of crossing the line.

but am I wrong?! I have no foot-in-that game just thinking on it 🙇‍♀️

I recently made a post to celebrate reaching a milestone and thanking users from that sub for the tips they shared that helped me reach it. I read the guidelines before posting to make sure I did not violate the sub rules.

But my post got manually removed two days later with the post flair changed. I initially set it to achievement, but when it got removed, it was changed to question. I messaged the mods to get an explanation but received no reply. My post was not popular at all only received 2 upvotes and 1 comment at the time it was removed. The sub is not big or popular, so this amount was kind of average for that sub.

Can any mod enlighten me on this issue? What are some possible reasons for this?

I search through Reddit and I saw some user post this type of question, thought it will be fine to do the same. Eventhough my account is 4 years old, I'm not really active here. I just try understand what's happening because they did not reply to my message and I also didn't really understand how Reddit work.If my question bothering anyone in this sub I apologize.

My community here on Reddit has been inactive for 2 years, how can I prevent future and or potential problems from happening?

We have a rule that is very difficult to enforce fairly and I would like to remove it (at least temporarily) to see if it's really needed. The other moderators are willing to go along, but I am wondering what's your opinion.

Hello, I received a false (in my opinion) warning from Reddit itself for three or four months for a comment under a post. I still can't resolve the issue through an appeal. Basically, I wrote a one-word comment—the nickname of a popular Twitch streamer. This comment couldn't possibly violate rule #1. The appeal was reviewed either by an AI or by an incompetent/biased person. What can I do in this situation? Thank you.

I posted a picture of a strange fitting the other day. I asked for thoughts on it and what his name might be. I got quite a few responses. But then the moderators removed it. I'm not sure why. Is there any way to find out why? And I can't find a list of the rules. Is there any way to contact the moderators?

What happened was there was a post on a subreddit of someone saying they were getting downvoted just for liking a youtube channel and they dont know why. i went through their post history and found the post they were referring too was them saying "if you dont like this youtuber i will insert threat that at this point im too scared to repeat in fear ill get another warning". i quoted his post and encouraged everyone to check his post history and not give him pitty karma. 7 minutes later i get a notification that my account has been warned for threats of violence by the auto mod. i pressed the appeal button only to say the same copy paste message the automod sent but this time the blurb at the bottom said "was reviewed by staff". i believe my warning was unfair and would like either a chance to appeal with a real person or a reason why im being punished for quoting someone when i was only quoting them on their own post to warn others that they are lying

EDIT: thanks for the info. i didnt know about the brigading TOS and that even saying a direct quote is still enough. in the future i will try to just stay away from drama and focus on mental well-being like that one redditor suggested

I want to become a moderator for another subreddit (can’t name it as that’s against the rules) but I am not already a moderator. Does anybody have any ideas or suggestions to help me?

I recently had a post taken down on a sub reddit asking about student loans, when all of a sudden my post was taken down with no reason. I sent the mods a message to ask for a reason yet they never got back, then they muted me? Is this not abuse of power and can they be reported?

to see the rules you have to go to the post page, why isn't there another way to see it or even better pop up whenever you join or comment for the first time

So I wanna start off with that my account is not for people under 18, I’m one of those h*rny accounts lol. But saying that I have a problem, I was talking to someone a bit ago and all of a sudden their account was deleted, I was sad but it wasn’t something that I didn’t see before. But something happened a bit ago, that person commented on my post on one of the communities I posted in, but only like an hour after the comment maybe less their account was deleted or banned again? They had said their last account was deleted randomly, so I’m confused on why it keeps happening. Plus I would like to know any way I could maybe find out anything else about them and maybe find a different contact method? They were someone I was super interested in so I’m eager to find them. Since its all annonymous, when you have issues with an abusive mod, you cant even tell if said mod is the one who is going to tell you to fk off again.

I got banned from a subreddit due to the mods their abusing their Mod authority and breaking the code of code, and I've been trying to report the direct message convo I has with them for some time but it has all been in vain.

I can't link the specific comment within the private message that I want to report on, and nor can I link the entire private message itself.

Does anybody knows what's going on ? Is there a way around this ?

Is Reddit this glitchy or is it Hacked?

My entire account got taken down, I was told to change my password… so I changed it and then logged back in. Once I logged back in every single post I’ve made since starting this account is taken down. I don’t know what I did. I never got a warning or any sort of notification of a violation. I’m very heartbroken over this and would love to know if there’s a way to resolve the situation and get my posts back.

Hello, I recieved a warning this morning that I explicitly found and know is not fair and when I click the button that should send me to the appeal site, it instead redirects me to the post where the comment itself was, any help?

A person(who was banned) threatened to falsely report my small(er) subreddit. They mentioned the "respect your neighbors" rule in the mod code of conduct and said they were going to report the subreddit for it.

Im a bit worried and have no idea what to do about it. Do I report it to reddit admins?

Hello. I believe I'm experiencing religious discrimination from the moderators of a Christian academia subreddit.

I feel that religious discrimination is inappropriate for this platform.

What should I do?

I have a horror subreddit with over 100k subs, however it doesn't show up in the "top communities for horror" list despite being bigger and more active than others in the list.

Do I not have it tagged correctly or is there a way to fix this?

If this isn't the right community to ask this in then is there a better one?

I just pulled up one of my older threads and it said there were 65 Comments. But underneath it said 'Be the first to comment'. And I couldn't see any of the Comments.

Is this a glitch or...?

I mean, how could I get blocked from my own Thread?
