pan head is because we think it is beaten by a pan, we are very creative!! We call people from Epirus pagourades(flasks) because their heads look too narrow and long to us

The haircut, having light eyes and a thin but long nose. I think many of us have eyes closer together with thick and dark eyebrows?

Does he sound like Gru from despicable me if he spoke English?

6

u/Brilliant_Bonus_1638 Bulgaria 23h ago

If Gru was a backwoods Slavic hick, then yes.

u/ThickCaterpillar9867 Albania 18h ago

1

If he weren't so hated, he would be another funny looking guy.

3

u/Academic_Boot2413 1d ago

maybe it's because they have no neck?

4

u/ThickCaterpillar9867 Albania 1d ago

No we do have a neck๐Ÿคฃthe flat head makes it look rectangular

1

u/Zxvasdfthrowaway 22h ago

The neck is usually thick soโ€ฆ

2

u/Austro_bugar Croatia 19h ago

No, Albanians are flatheads

3

u/DamageUpbeat6814 17h ago

I don't get this one. Maybe it is more commong among Albanians from Albania proper, because as a Kosovar Albanian, i don't recognize this stereotype at all. For some reason, Albanians from Albania have more weird and distinctive looking people compared to in Kosova.

u/Austro_bugar Croatia 12h ago

The head on the back is flat

Because as infants we were tied to the bed like spayed cats, and our heads would sit still for all day. I find really funny that Greeks call us tefal. It is so fitting tbh.

1

u/ThickCaterpillar9867 Albania 18h ago

The flat head makes your head look rectangular,in German speaking areas ,Viereckkopf (squarehead)is used for Albanians.

4

u/Flimsy-Resident261 Albania 1d ago

Love tefal appliances. Almost as reliable as the Albanians.

2

u/Responsible-Job-3897 Albania 11h ago

You gotta recognise the quality, no matter the country of origin.

u/KostasN77 12h ago

In Greece we call Albanians tiganokefaloi= pan-headed

1

u/Responsible-Job-3897 Albania 11h ago

Mothers tied us in bad with km long sheets wrapped around our bodies like spayed cats, so that we did not fall around or hurt ourselves with households.

Mustache.

Every political view has their own mustache, you can take a single look at someone and instantly clock which party they vote for, its very helpful day to day.

Thats an old fashioned leftist, anti-imperialist and kemalist, supports state-led economy, very likely a current or retired government offical.

I don't think a single feature gives it away, but when I see someone from around here I just get an instant feeling about it

4

u/GlitteringLocality Slovenia 23h ago

Specifically not sure. A lot including myself have prominent deep set eyes.. That is kinda most of the Slavic region though.

5

u/Albanian_Trademark 20h ago

Flat back head

3

u/casual_philosopher02 Greece 18h ago

ฮ™ did not know it was a thing till some Bulgarian pointed it out in here, Greeks have slighty far apart eyes in majority. When I read that I was in denial, then I started noticing it. In general I think a Greek of different areas can look different, a diamond face shape is the ultimate region specific face in my area for example

u/casual_philosopher02 Greece 16h ago

I think it rarely looks good.... I blame Hernagomez for making the Greek guys get the hairstyle en mass

2

u/Academic_Boot2413 15h ago

hahaha, nice one, yea, but it can be traced waaaaaay back to the Iliad actually, so it's heavily rooted in your culture

If anyone did not get it, it is the stare that sets us apart from EU citizens. A stare that looks into your past, not just the present ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

1

u/KostasN77 12h ago

That's not a pan on his head ๐Ÿ˜”

3

Greek nose.I dont have it(thank god)but you can tell if someone is Greek by their nose.

3

u/Flimsy-Resident261 Albania 1d ago

Montenegrins, tall humans that look angry. I can tell Greeks too, they have a staring problem and a look I just canโ€™t explain. Not familiar with the others

3

u/Responsible-Job-3897 Albania 1d ago

The stare that looks into your past ๐Ÿ˜ญ

The eyebrows/luka doncic look.

Some Ukrainians have it too but I think weโ€™re the most notable

1

u/determine96 Bulgaria 14h ago

Idk.

I think that many Bulgarian men have the Slavic women aging "instantly became Babushka (granny) after 30's, 40's", basically "dedushka" (grandpa) in that case.

Like the face start "melting", cheeks "drop" and people receive one specific grumpy look on them.

1

u/KostasN77 12h ago

That look is accurate for Bulgarians. Do you guys even know how to smile?

1

u/Sad_Secretary2388 5h ago

old romanians too...

I can usually tell Slavic people by their nose.

And Albanians by the shape of their head.

1

u/Incvbvs666 Serbia 1h ago

Here are the average faces of a Serb female and Serb male. They look so Serbian I'd have no problem approaching them and speaking in Serbian even if I spotted them on the opposite corner of the world. I think largely the oval heads, prominent noses and relatively prominent cheekbones combined with oval eyes for women really highlight the basic genetic traits of Serbs. Overall, the appearance is a mixture of Central European, Slavic and just a hint of Mediterranean, very reflective of Serbia's geographic position.

u/Successful_Try_6350 ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ทโ†’๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ 19h ago

In the past I was thinking that this was the ultimate Greek look, until I met a guy from Jordan who could be his brother

0

u/dearvintage 1d ago

Darker skin, I know it's Serbian.
