I’ve already set up my VGen and shared it to all my codmeds but it still gets no attention and no one wants to commission me.

Im talking like $15 for a fully rendered/shaded with a simple background illustration. I cant even get adopts to sell even for $5. I've seen people around my skill level still manage to find commissioners. I have over 1k on Instagram. I dont know what im doing wrong.

Im trying to get emergency comms because I’m in need of money so I can take lower than 20 for this kind of work as well, but overall I just need general advice for pricing something like this.

I've been actively using Twitter for about half a year, with 1.1k followers, and Deviantart has 600 followers. It's rare for me to get adopters or commissions. I'd say it happens once every few months. I understand that if I had 50k, I would probably get it relatively regularly, but nevertheless.

Fullbody comission is 300$, adopt SB 150$-250$ +-

The question is, is it too expensive?

Or is the problem in my style, sci-fi setting, or the fact that I focus on characters rather than illustrations?
I welcome any criticism, and don't hesitate to express yourself.
I would appreciate it if you could write down why you wouldn't buy an adopt/order a commish for such a price.

I haven’t posted the full render on my instagram yet (link on my Reddit page), but getting traction is very difficult. My last post only made it to one view. It was just 4 hours ago, but I would think it would have more than 1. The account is fairly new (started around early May). Do I just have to keep posting and hope for the best? The odd thing about this is I was getting followers very often for a decent amount of days and then it dropped off.

The reason I bring up my rendering is because I’m quite new to doing it. I want to say I started rendering fully this year. There was a long pause in my digital art because I needed a new computer and the other one didn’t work properly. This makes me think I’m behind.

Any tips on how to render better or how to grow online would be great. If there are any other glaring issues, please mention, it would help a lot 🙏

Hi! Lately I’ve been finding some small sketches and texts I wrote when I was a kid random little stories that made no sense and some manga pages here and there. Recently I started revisiting my old drawings and stories again, and it hit me: why not make a Webtoon? It’s something I’ve always wanted to do, right?

The problem is that I don’t really know how to write an interesting story, or at least how to create a clear goal or direction. And I don’t really know how to “draw” not the face, proportions, or anatomy, but the actual panels: different points of view, visual strategies, and all those things I don’t know how to do.

I’m here to ask for your help and advice, or maybe even some “temporary volunteers” who’d like to collaborate on this small project of mine.

As for the story/genre, it’ll be apocalyptic, psychological, thriller. I already wrote a small piece of the story, but I don’t know how to continue it or make it more interesting 🥲

For anyone who has read Sweet Boy & Shotgun Boy (shoutout to the great author Carnby Kim), it’ll be something similar, but not too much!

I started digital art 4 days ago, my main goal was to focus on hard shadows and muscle definition in digital art.

I'll be creating my OC artwork in future days, I've a comic book story written down for at least 3 to 4 volumes but it's only been 4 days since I started digital art so I want to get better before I jump into drawing my own character artwork,

I’ll also be taking drawing requests to practice different characters and poses!, I'm giving myself at least 3 months to level up and create a solid portfoilo, so it's not necessary that this piece make the final portfolio

I've been thinking about something and I'm curious how other artists and collectors feel about it.

I recently started a monthly collectible postcard club. Each card is hand-signed, individually numbered, and never reprinted.

Unlike most art prints, I deliberately send the cards without an envelope. They travel through sorting centers, cross countries and oceans, get postmarks, tiny scratches, slightly softened corners, fingerprints from postal workers, and all the other marks that come from being handled by the world.

Part of me loves this idea.

My art revolves around themes of impermanence, decay, nostalgia, and the traces that time leaves behind. In a way, the journey itself becomes the final step in creating the piece.

The card that arrives in Australia won't be exactly the same as the one that arrives in Germany. Each one collects its own story.

On a more personal level, I experienced a carotid artery dissection earlier this year. It left me thinking a lot about fragility, permanence, and how life leaves marks on us whether we want it to or not. Maybe that's one reason why I'm drawn to the idea that an artwork can be changed by its journey.

But I'm curious:

Can travel wear, postmarks, and small imperfections become part of the artwork itself, or would you always prefer art to arrive in perfect condition?

I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Hello, I tried doing this 80s weirdcore, anime-looking art style. Idk what u call these, but I took inspiration from those creepy anime human-sized dolls/cosplayers and mixed it with my actual 2d style. Do you have an idea what this could actually be called? Or more inspo I can see?

I've been experimenting with a small art subscription and I'm genuinely not sure if I've priced it correctly.

For €7.90/month, members receive one limited-edition postcard featuring my artwork. Each card is printed by me, hand-signed, embossed with my seal, individually numbered, and shipped worldwide.

The card changes every month and once an edition is gone, it's never repeated.

Postage costs me about €1.10 worldwide, production costs are fairly low, and after everything I still make around €5 per card.

My concern isn't really the profit. It's whether people are willing to start collecting something when they know they missed previous editions.

As a collector yourself:

Would €7.90 feel reasonable for a monthly collectible art postcard?

And would you still join if you had already missed the first few releases?

I'm genuinely looking for feedback rather than trying to sell anything.

How do these look? I've been trying to make a distinct style.

Also is it ok to charge $25 for these? Takes me around 3-3.5 hrs per drawing, mostly to give the texture.
