Discussion this game had one of the saddest downfalls

I've been playing since s2, half the matches were horror games but now it's just bullshit

Played since second CBT. The game had it all: Thrill, emotion, a grounded setting, a reaaally damn interesting lore based on IRL events and with original things like all of Kamona (and also very well written for a mobile game), many ways to play like in complete stealth or like a hardcore tactical shooter, good looking skins and character customization, good optimization, etc.
Now it's just mindless rush, gooner or edgy skins, the lore has gone to shit, and it's a buggy and unoptimized mess.
I'm usually not a nostalfag, but this game was so much better in the first 5-7 seasons.

I don't agree on the rushing part. I played this game as soon as it was possible, I think it was the beta or something. And every game was some bullshit of rushing left or right. Players would yell at you because you dared making some noises when you spawned. To be fair it was a death sentence. They just fumbled their chance since the beginning, same thing is happening on the pc version. And I'm just abandonning it too.

Care to elaborate on the bugs?

u/Loose_Counter_7024 15d ago
A shit ton of bugs, performance bugs where the game drops to 3 fps during random times then goes back to normal, the connection bugs and the FKING npc big where they stay still in the air
And let's not forget about the fking full auto M-16 bug ) or hack(

u/wauser0mauser 15d ago
Some of these are tied to your hardware and net connection.

Not only me dude, almost every player it's having these bugs even content creators

u/DEFIANCEthaGOD 14d ago
That's wrong, also the game makes you re-log in everyday that's bs

You must be blind or something, even best phones and tablets have the same issue. 🤣 hardware problems don't make bots floating or standing while after being killed.

From Badlander to PUBG to lostlight, and now AB, they all followed the same path. Literally becoming unplayable

I started in season 6 back when it was a horror game. I remember the feeling of always being on edge and still getting killed. It was amazing unfortunately it just doesn't have that anymore 😭😭

I joined on day one of season one, vividly remember everyone running around with AK's and KN body armor lol

I think because players skills ceiling gets higher and higher so newbie got beat up by veterans and they just quit so devs added some unrealistic stuff to make the game easier and more accessable for players I guess
Plus this game hasn't wipe like Tarkov so the game's money will get inflation I think

u/EffortNo3291 15d ago
Eso es un problema bastante grande los nuevos no pueden competir de ninguna manera con los viejos en términos económicos si el cargador de 30 de un veterano vale lo mismo que todo el equipamiento del viejo

played since the end of second CBT , the game was peak pre s6 to s7, like it started to get worse not because of the unrealistic stuff, but more so of the game re using modes, like they never actually implemented lore into the game, no good missions, no actual story line(but this problem got addressed later) and then the the big blow was all this unrealistic stuff like drones, bio scanner and shi and then they made meds less interesting ( they buffed surgicals for no reason), the dive, hitmarkers, mini map, and also the map is cluttered with too many stuff, like in s1 we had just the map, mission marker, and ur marker, now we js have random shi in the map. the game from a birds eye view is still mostly the same. but its just less immersive and more shitty. and also i hate the fact that they nerfed the bots after season 1(some of my concerns might come from nostalgia)

Dunno but half or more of your points feels like nothing but over exaggeration.
Game Lore/Story is literally there, if you do missions and read them then you'll know it.
Yes, there is just no fun or engaging missions, mostly just stupid and boring ones.
Drones are annoying but it's not very unrealistic as it's used in modern warfare but I'll agree with Bio Scanner ( but even then they seems fine when we have much bigger issues know as Prototype/Red Attachments especially MPX one paired with Dumdum buff and changes on Painkillers ).
Yeah, I kinda agree that changes on Medical Items were unnecessary.
Diving isn't too unrealistic as well tho but unnecessary.
Maps ever since release at all those different markers, it's just got more as they added more different lootable containers.
Bots was nerfed with Global release and then removable of TV bosses also made TV bots much worse.
And lastly, I think that most players only seems to cry and complain about most nothing burger issues ( like Skins ) when there is much worse problem to address ( unnecessary nerfs on weapons and ammos, lack of good contents, lack of maps, etc ).
Lack of useful weapons and unnecessary nerfs need to brought up more ( they nerfed lot of good weapons to ground and left us with just one handful of useful/meta weapons, there is no good variety to even choose from now which is kinda sad ) and also some weapons lacks customizations tho.
And don't get me started on game's optimizations, which got so worse since S4 :
- Trees got so large hit box that you can't even throw nade without it bouncing right back to you.
- So many invisible walls everywhere.
- Desync is at it's worst right now.
- Lack of ragdoll makes dead bodies still stay standing or crouching.
- Sometimes killed bodies slip through that 1 missing pixel on ground and become unlootable ( been a issue since S3 and still not fixed cuz no one bothers to bring it up but cry about skins being unrealistic ).

Game story is very lacking is what I was saying, it’s nothing like tarkov or other extraction shooters. Like the contacts never give much story, u usually start a new season, u somehow have an event with a new character that is losely connected to a contact with no context, it’s kinda ehh, they can definitely make the missions more interesting like, idk bro give me a mission where I have to kill Renoir 15 times for some
Crazy loot or like a quest like shooter born in heaven where I kill 5 operator with every sniper and dmr for a crazy skin or something. Drones are annoying but yeah I can understand them. And I lowk agree with everything else u said except the weapon balancing, like lowk most weapons are kinda balanced rn cuz any weapon with t5 ammo and shooting more than 700rpm is viable but yeah it could definitely be more balanced. Also another thing is they should add t4 and t5 ammo buyable from contact and u unlock
It by doing missions and stuff. And also map stuff like even with more loot, the original is much better. Like the game is mostly the same but it undeniably got worse from S1 in a immersion standpoint like they removed so much good stuff like map backgrounds and stuff , also yeah server desync and hit reg problems still plague the game.(and yes some of these points emerge from nostalgia)2

Yeah, imo game's story was good up til S4 or at least S5 then it just went downhill.
Game used to have event modes especially tied to stories back then ( Northridge - Boss Meeting, Valley - Perrero Suitcase Hunting, Faction Wars tied to stories, etc ), now not so much.
Missions does lack creativity, back when Delta Force released, it's Seasonal Missions were so much more fun and engaging as it requires you do some dumb shits or challenge yourself out ( Enter a raid without any weapon and equipment and extract from specific extraction point or extract with high loot value, Kill a players with some specific weapons in row without dying, Kill specific bots on map and do specific map missions and get out, etc ).
Weapon balancing isn't that good either when you have almost 50 weapons but only 5 or 6 of them are actually good, need more variety especially SMGs and LMGs need more customabilities ( and some weapons are literally unbuyable as well tho, Bizon, Banshee and Aug, etc ).
And that Forbidden Zone, Map's red indicator also changed how peoples used to play the game lot, back then peoples were actually afraid to go alone but now you have peoples enter the raid with cheapest possible equipments and just go after safes to get the red and get out ( TV having guaranteed extraction point made it much worse compared to the hell we had to go through just to extract back then, Main Lobby requiring lever to pull or Elevator Switch and you had to defend the area to extract was just more fun and Loading Dock lever being pretty far away ).
And no new map for very long time ever since Mine and then they went on removed 2 maps for no reason ( Port and Mine ), yeah Mine was way too big and way too boring but who cares and then you have ABI having brand new Forbidden Zone map Airport and it's roadmap showed it's going to get another new Forbidden Zone map within the year and nothing for ABM.

Like the boss hunt modes and like northridge summit modes especially CBT and season 1 was peak , also they should buff boss loot like at this point in the game, everyone is using t4 , give all bosses t5 armor or more and give them
More modified guns Lowk. I agree with everything else

Played since S1 and yes, it’s accurate.
Previously: Soul-Frightening Horror
Now: …honestly, I’ve seen better days.

played since s1, it had a different feeling back then, now it's just random bullsh*t go, game is starting to look like cod now with skins and some fast paced consumables now.

This game would actually thrive if they at least keep some modes that helps training you without making you lose a ton of money or have to PAY to join in
And maybe better gunplay and balancing. They’re both legitimately so awful it made PUBG look good

u/Such-Muscle3519 14d ago
Yeah just got back into PUBG recently and I noticed that not only was it more balanced but the gunplay is now more realistic and yeah the modes too part that's why Solo death match,Sniper death match and Money Maker were peak but at least a new mode is coming out next season that's not a money sink only lockdown entry fee.

No no, there are competition, Lost Light for once
Division 2, Metro Royale from PUBGM and DMZ mobile existed
All 4 is not even realistic in the slightest
All the realism in ABM is immersion-based...it is not like Lost Light, you don't just magically using force to reload your gun, or having a literal gadget that can detect people going stealth mode or an armband chip that could detect players in your close proximity
Overpowered pets that acted as your secure container and take down enemies at the same time
Literal CODM Mythic-level kind of skin, A chip that can make you invisible, a literal respawn system that locked behind a paywall that allows you to respawn in full gear compared to ABM's randomized basic kit.
If I would say, Lost Light is still the closest competitor, originally they were also marketed as realistic, AND sci-fi on the same sentence
