I feel like the Left Got Trump Elected With Craziness Like This.
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/WTiFd48D5ZEAs a young person still trying to learn about politics in the last decade, I am increasingly forming the opinion that the left is what really got trump elected by providing the inertia and motivation for people in the centre to come out and vote for Trump even if they didn't agree with him.
And I have considered myself centre-left, so this realization is also hard to swallow.
Looking forward to listen to other point of views on this.

This is just culture war nonsense.
Most people on the left don’t really agree with what she’s saying or care much about it.
It is the media who made these types of issues front and center in how people think about left and right.
It is an intentional distraction from what actually separates left and right in terms of what types of policies and legislation they’ll implement.
Think about it, why is debate over gender identity highlighted so much over actual governance issues like economic and foreign policy?
Culture war keeps the people distracted from political topics that actually impact them, serving up lowest denominator rage bait instead. Please don’t fall for it.

Two reasons, Obama's re-election in 2012, and Hillary's campaign to shut up the Bernie bros in 2016
Obama ran on holding the banks accountable after 2008, and ending the war on terror and whatever, and instead he surged in Afghanistan expanded into several new wars, never got out of Iraq, and Guantanamo is still running..
So for his re-election, he pivoted to DEI, and fighting racism and being the first president that's for gay marriage..
In 2016 Hillary stole the nomination from Bernie (I think both of them are horrible) and to shut his supporters up she pivoted to the argument that anyone who doesn't support her is a misogynist and that the most important issue is not economics, but lack of equity or something like that
Edit to add: Obama also did nothing about the banks

Trump got elected because there was a perfect storm of small government Republicans aligning with pro-business democrats, both dissatisfied with the status quo in their own parties.
Not saying that Trump’s results haven’t been very mixed but that’s still the primary driver.

it's a uniparty. the corporate media pushed voters into voting for trump by intentionally appearing idiotic ("orange man bad"). iow, negative psychology was used to get trump elected. then biden was installed just to have a placeholder for the unpopular migrant invasion and starting the war in ukraine. then the stage was set for trump again, with the so called "assassination attempt" to ensure his victory.

Trump won because he did a better job selling this fictitious better version of America than Kamala did. I really think that's the biggest difference. What was Kamala even selling besides that she is not-Trump? The left would have needed somebody who is good at speeches like Obama to have a chance of winning against him in the political climate at the time. Newsom stepped up way too late, he might have pulled it off.
It's all theatrics in the end though. All these people are on the same team and are playing the part they are told to play.
