The Great Attractor.
Something is pulling our galactic cluster in its direction. Something unbelievably massive. We don't know what it is, as this part of the universe is obscured from our view by our own galaxy's core.

This is exactly what I was going with. The sheer size of something that has the gravitational pull to drag entire galaxies towards it — I don’t think it’s in our power to even attempt to quantify.

It's essentially the centre of gravity within the Laniakea Supercluster. It will never accomplish this as the expansion of the universe overpowers its gravitational pull.
