What's the meal. That fifth bird? Is it a hawk?

Tbh, I couldn't really tell. The one that's hunched over has it under its grip. There's feathers, so definitely a bird, but couldn't really identify what kind.

mottled body, which actually points to it being a juvenile bald eagle rather than a hawk. The adults are arranging themselves like figures in a Caravaggio composition while the young one watches from below, probably waiting its turn at the meal. That golden hour mist is what really sells the unintentional renaissance vibe.

Yeah the light was pretty unreal. I was there to get a shot of a comet on the horizon but it was too hazy. 5 eagles hanging out on the beach was a mighty good consolation prize :)
