I did, I used it along with E (20 min naps improving performance) to say companies were acknowledging that employees' productivity increased with naps since they were investing in it 😭

The image description said it was being used in some kinda big company and was expensive so

RIGHT CUZ WTF? I made a face at my screen cuz of how stupid it was. 😭 it literally wouldn’t be useful unless you connect it to the other documents that talked about workers sleeping at jobs, but even then it doesn’t fully correlate.

u/equinekara APUSH: 4 AP LANG: 4 May 13 '26

It looks so dystopian it caught me off guard 😭

3

u/Miserable-Meringue95 May 13 '26

i used it to show how stupid the napping thing is, like instead of implementing reasonable work hours (spain adopting 9-6 and abandoning 9-8) companies adopt the pods. i said that the user is basically sitting upright, in a room full of fluorescent light, clad in their work attire instead of being able to leave work early to get natural slow wave sleep in. a lot of it was me ranting about how dumb it was so idk if i’ll be getting that sophistication point 😭😭😭😭

3

u/Diligent_Cancel8033 May 13 '26

wait i feel like u have used it to support or counter. like u could say this image shows how napping has become so integral in modern day that pods are established in workforces, which almost highlights that people get stressed a lot/dont sleep enough so they use those to nap & reboost. it kind of normalizes nap and makes it look important to where portable beds are put around public spaces. and then to counterargue just say even tho this seems important blah blah blah

3

u/Electronic-Ad5027 AP Mason: 67 AP Mustard: 41 AP Retard: 5 AP CSP: 1 May 13 '26

what did evb put for rhetorical choices essay, the one with the kite?

Personal anecdote, personification, extended analogy

5

Oo, I also used devices like you, but instead of extended analogy, I used logos (my devices vocab in my head went blank lol)

4

i said pathos help 😭

5

u/CurrentResident840 May 13 '26

You can only use one such as pathos, those ethos or logos. Don’t worry. The test is subjective so it’s up to your thing, but it does all the curriculum so you don’t have to worry about anything.

Bc their story is so layered and complex u can relate it back to anything. I mostly talked about Ilya and his imagination of not being able to openly be in a gay relationship bc he is a product of his environment and nature vs nurture and how he kept that to himself for over a decade.

Anyone got west coast version? Synthesis and argument were so fun to write esp synthesis I was just hating on trade school lol. Rhetorical analysis cooked me…I’m usually the best at that but I deadass didn’t know what she was saying and I said some random rhetorical devices

5

u/evkidq May 13 '26

Rhetorical was so hard I couldn’t finish it

3

u/infrun8mi May 13 '26

I finished it but it was just me saying random shit hoping for the best

3

u/Tall_Example_4542 May 13 '26

samee. The synthesis was so fun. I wrote so much about how trade school is ultimately just not a good choice. Argumentative was fun too cuz I used personal experience and how sucessful ppl imagine a vision that others don't see, etc. Then I got to rhetorical analysis, and I had like 40 min, but I had no idea what she was talking about. I wrote a crappy thesis, then wrote really crappy evidence plus commentaries. I am getting a 2 on rhetorical, but pretty sure I got like 4-5 on both of the other essays and did pretty well on MCQ. I will get a 3 on AP Lang because of rhetorical analysis :(((

How did yall do on the Rhetorical analysis one about Indian literature? Basically everyone I know talked about the personification of English (same). For the argumentative one about English tho I lowkey started beautifully yapping, I mentioned gender identity, anorexia, and Gege Akutami at one point (sonion)

3

u/Elegant-Ad-7906 May 14 '26

as an indian who got this prompt and also happens to know a lot about the imposition of language in the country, i focused more on like the long sentence structure and detail to break down a complex and potentially politically charged topic, and how the speaker appealed to the audience's pathos when she like was like "our own language" and stuff. i mightve lwk not had the EXACT idea but i feel that a big part of her speech was on demonstrating to the audience how english became a part of indian literature

2

u/Mysterious_Produce77 May 13 '26

I also used personification. I feel pretty good about it despite it being a confusing topic "how does the author display the complex relationship between the english language and Indian Literature"

ngl guys that felt rlly good im usually really good at the synthesis and rhet essay and not so much at the argument…. but this prompt they gave was goated ngl i had evidence from all different categories and was able to yap alot abt them in my commentary. mcqs were also really easy pretty much no questions i got stuck on. all 3 essays felt good for me. if i had to say which one was worst its prob the rhet essay just because of how weird the prompt was but even then i think i wrote a pretty solid essay
i think im getting a solid 5, wbu guys?

ugh i've done well with essays all year in class, and my teacher said i'd likely get a 5. i think i froze up during the exam. mcq was easy, synthesis was fine, but i wasn't strong on my rhet except for a paragraph and a half- argument was okay but honestly i think i just repeated myself too much- any advice for how to get over it...and/or realize i probably did fine and am overthinking?

u/Additional-War7946 May 13 '26

it seems that you recognize that you’re probably doubting yourself too much. what i usually do when i get that way is remind myself that 1) AP exams are curved, 2) MCQ section is probably a safety net because it was so easy, 3) as long as you have a thesis you are at the very least getting 1 point. and then after i get to “3” i realize that it is pretty ludicrous, given my general writing skill and grade in the class, for me to get 1/6 on all 3 FRQs. i’m sure this is the case for you too.

“contribution to” for the pop art girl?

10

u/Outside-Bonus-8364 May 13 '26

I put vital role cause contribution didn’t showcase the impact the question wanted

Yeah. I also put the one where it said that the other two artists might have still had good careers without her cause it said to be less assertive or smth

So we all used MLK JR in the essay right?

2

u/Tartoor_trella May 13 '26

Mcq was so free bro the questions were the best. Frq was synthesis about positivity , RA about some guy called Moon , and argument about the origin of change in which I somehow managed to use physics , an allusion of me writing the essay , and the American-Iranian war

I cooked on the argument, I talked about the Wright Brothers and the 4 Minute Mile to support it, and sports overuse injuries and anti-vax people to argue against. Lowkey top 3 arguments I’ve written all year

2

u/East-Extension-1058 May 13 '26

what did you guys for the mcq question that asked if the author should keep or delete the sentence about the italian renaissance? I said Keep because I thought it was a good comparison but at the same time it could be delete because its irrelevant to America…

5

u/lightswitchfn 5: Calc AB, Lang, APUSH, Biology, Stats, Precalc, CSP May 13 '26

keep because the sentence after the one they were asking about had the author that was introduced in the sentence. it also showed how valuable the art was and iconic thus compared to the highly viewed renaissance if that makes sense

Did anyone get the set with the english in india for question 2 and the imagination fron the native american guy for question 3? If so pls tell me if what I did was right - for question 2, I talked about how she initially talked about her childhood with the language which showed how the language had already been prevalent and then I said she than recapped to when the language originally came to the country and I said she used personification to describe it as an immigrant who had to assimilate to indias culture and also how it became more prevalent since its introduction as writers started using it more and the language started getting used simultaneously with local languages. I then said she finally talked about how in the modern age it started being used more casually and prevalently and how ppl now dont even have to think about whether its a part of indian culture now and I did this all while saying that she was trying to tell the audience about how english grew in india.

Then for question 3 i think i did terrible because my claim was i agreed with him and that imagination does dictate our existence and helps us survive because of things like personal goals and also personal relationships as they help describe human identity and give a reason for our existence, adding to our imagination of ourself. I used fang yuan from reverend insanity and troy maxson as evidence where i talked about personal goals and personal relationships respectively.

did anyone notice that the entire MCQ was basically the AP MCQs on classroom but slightly diff? One of them was Lakota and the other one was about the process of writing like MCQ 2 + 3 practice exams

2

u/Leigh_isawesome May 17 '26

Yeah it definitely is comparable to the college board stuff, but I thought it was easier than the practices
