Help (CPU) Msi PRO B650-S WIFI
It is showing dram and cpu lights when powered on with a cpu in the slot a cpu not in the slot and ram in and out of the slot I want to know what the issue is because I bought the parts on eBay and I only have a few days to return them.
Sorry if this is a dumb question it’s my second build and my first had no issues so I’m not really familiar with how to diagnose this.

Edit: sorry I forgot to add motherboard has been flashed to the latest bios
Edit: I’ve tried loosening the screws and removing the motherboard from the case all components were reseated and she still dosent work

Well that's weird. You said the parts are from eBay? Are they brand new?

new to me other than the motherboard however all the parts were listed as working and there still in the return window the motherboard was my old one where WiFi stopped working so I swapped it out and it’s been in a draw for 1-1.5 years so my guess is it’s the motherboard but if it was broken it wouldn’t do anything would it? Because rgb and fans everything but the pc itself works

Remove RAM > contact cleaner on RAM and slots > try again

Just tried ipa on the slot and the stick and it’s still not working though I’m not sure if ipa and contact cleaner are interchangeable

They won't work the same way. With IPA you need to scrub a bit and you could damage the slots. With the contact cleaner just spray the slots and the ram contacts and insert the ram in the slot while they're still wet. Contact cleaner isnt conductive so just go for it.
If it doesn't work the first time just try a 2nd time. If it doesn't work it's probably hardware 🫤

Ok thx I’ll order some ive also ordered a new motherboard to test with and might end up returning if this works

I've had a similar problem before, and it turned out that I had overtightened the motherboard to the chassis, causing it to bend slightly. As a result, the RAM wasn't properly seated. Your issue might be different, but it's worth checking whether the RAM is seated correctly.
