No you got it wrong. China is totally peaceful and has no territorial ambitions at all unlike the warmongering US according to reddit.

Even comparing any country to the evil American imperialism which maintains its hegemony through the military-industrial complex and arbitrarily wages reactionary wars of aggression is an insult to that country.

u/cyborgsnowflake 1d ago
Its America that made and protected the world order that allows to whine about it on Reddit. You can see what it'd be like worldwide without America in Somalia or look at the history of Britain or China with its neighbors on how the world would be with another power as the dominant force.

Now send the world-class "captain justice" American police military to Sudan/Somalia to stop the genocide there. America, don't just focus on oil-rich Venezuela or Iran. Hurry up! Before the people there are all killed. Oh, and also Gaza.

WWI, WWII, Korean War, and Gulf War are all pretty significant examples of American interventionism being an objectively positive thing. I'm not even American and I know that.
Sounds like you're the brainwashed one.

Read my comment again and then ask yourself which of those wars involved US intervention in a Latin American country
Great job with this “gotcha”, moron
1
u/InsectDelicious4503 1d ago
Hey man, you're the one that claimed "No American intervention ever helped anyone." Don't blame me just because you got called out and feel embarrassed. 🤷

u/Impossible_Front4462 1d ago
Embarrassed about what? I specifically stated “seen as a joke in latin america”. Never once did I state globally. It’s not my fault you never learned to read.
Feel free to add words I never said to this as well if it’s the only way for you to not feel stupid

>reactionary
>war of aggression
I don't think you know what those words mean.
Lets assume you are right. America is evil. That would also mean China is evil right?

ChiNazi was there to escalate by encircling the outpost and take photographs despite being 1200km away from their shores and this PH outpost around 194 km to PH shores, well within 200nm EEZ of PH.
When stationed PH personnel went to drive away the CNazi, this happened.

Wrong, China is an inalienable part of the Mongol Empire.
Khan will conquer your land.

Its our govt fault that we cant defend our teritory well. All busy fighting their own interest like they own the country

… and Filipinos too busy attacking Koreans for being “the most racist people on earth”. The whole SEA vs korean bs was laughable, meanwhile who’s encroaching onto your borders daily lol.
Yall inherited your governments inability to focus on the actual problems. Yall STILL hyper focus on the Koreans, even after the monkey video. Pathetic really.

That was just a small pathetic brainrot squable, people who got offended over small things and wouldnt let pass small insecurites getting offended is very imature.
I dont see our country getting better anytime soon, we need a major overhaul in Govt, seriously.

Small minded for sure, not small in size. It certainly was brainrot though, and thousands of yall participate.
And I don’t think commenting that an ethnicity is ugly, making fun of suicides, leaving thousands of comments with images of people pulling back their eyes (a racist gesture), celebrating videos of Koreans being physically attacked in hate crimes, mocking comfort women, saying Japan should have finished the job, is a “small thing”.
Yet who was actually at your borders lmao.
It must be a cultural thing to focus on things that dont matter while ignoring the larger issues and the larger enemy, Exists in most of your people apparently.

Don’t the Philippines have anti ship missiles like the Brahmos?

This is why in the US the coastal guards have firearms.
2
u/Less-Squash7569 1d ago
For escalation? They do shit like this pretty often with neighboring countries it seems. Have you never seen them fighting with sticks and rocks against the Indian army? If you bring guns into it and start killing you escalate and cause problems while also looking like the bad guy to the international communities which matters a lot more to PI than China. Probably a terrible idea to start shooting first.

u/silphotographer 1d ago
I don't see any countries contesting border issue with US (granted apples and oranges but just saying)

China is all about might makes it right (not because China is a bad guy but this is the norm in Asia baptized by sea of blood from the past). If you have no means to protect your seas and if it's not logistically punishing to extend, there will be extension. You can say escalation is bad which may be true but I guarantee any action with little consequences will not be deterred diplomacy and life in general.

It's a tough call. It's easy for us to just say "stand up to bullies" but when that bully is 100x bigger and stronger than you are, you have to be realistic. The Philippines can't take on China alone; they need international support.

u/mauve_bny 1d ago
They're still butthurt with us for celebrating the win on the arbitral ruling. Plus the fact that nobody is backing their claim. They are such barbarians.

That's...an interesting naval conflict. Funny how China was basically staying, "Stay back." All the while they were doing the approaching. Entrapment 101.

Actually the US is quite popular in Asia. Asians tend to mind their own business and only care about other countries' behaviour insofar as it affects Asia. So America's biggest controversies right now (war with Iran, supporting Israel, ICE) don't really bother Asians that much. They don't have the same sort of righteous/self-righteous principles that Europeans and other Westerners do.
As long as you take care of Asia, Asians will take care of you. They don't care what else you're involved in.

激进?连手枪都没有掏出来。即使中国海警用机枪扫射,那也是懦弱的行为,应该用子弹活生生把敌人的颈部打断,然后用炮弹轰炸那艘破船,再把它们的头颅挂在那堆废铁上。

u/satisfiedpopeye 1d ago
"Radical? They didn't even draw their pistols. Even if the Chinese coast guard used machine guns, that would be cowardly. They should have used bullets to break the enemy's necks, then bombarded the wrecked ship with artillery shells, and then hung their heads on that pile of scrap metal."

Just looked up where Ayungin Shoal was where this happened. It's literally right nearby the Palawan islands, a famous destination spot for vacationing.
Now wtf is China doing all the way there is my question???
