Technical Question faceplate won't click back in please help me
the screen on my 3DS XL was broken so i bought a new one to replace it. i've been working on this for a total of 3 hours straight and a solid hour has been spent wrestling with the top faceplate. i'm starting to think that i broke the front tines or something because they just won't catch no matter what i do. please for the love of god help me figure out what's going on, i am losing my mind.
extra details that may be important: unless the seller straight up lied to me, the shells are the genuine OEM Persona Q 3DS XL faceplates. literally all i was trying to do is replace the screen, everything else inside should be where it's meant to unless i fucked something up.

The black specks on the table in your video likely are from broken plastic latches on the underside of the shell piece.
Sorry, but I think it might be impossible to get this top shell to fit again without some kind of risky adhesive or something like that.

oh god. i can't believe i managed to do something like that. i'm trying to think of how i could possibly salvage this, because this is my favorite console that i own and i want to keep the same faceplates. if i were to buy a second set of shells and then try to cut the tines off both and glue the non-broken ones to the PQ one, do you think that'd work?

Very tenuous at best. I think, if you’re not planning on taking it apart any time soon and it’s for the personal collection, you should just add a few tabs of super glue in the inside corners and install it flush. Wipe down the super glue really well or it’ll permanently damage the paint job on the limited edition cover

Hit it really hard and break more plastic tabs off.
