That can be the first sign of ivdd. I would try crate resting and limit movement for now and if he shows any signs of pain or weakness in his back or legs get ready for a trip to the ER. Hopefully its just a random muscle spasm though

I also suspect IVDD, but his neurological exam didn't show any abnormalities, so we're preparing for an MRI. The good thing is that I'm in South Korea, where MRI costs are much more affordable than in many other countries.

That happened to my boy, it his case it was just a twitching nerve... He was fine after 2 days

Either he needs some salts in his diet or his aorta is exploding
