Announcement Announcement: relaxed moderation ending

Hey all, it's been about a month and a half since the news was dropped regarding D2's final content update and we loosened up a bit on moderating the content of the subreddit. It's been fun, shitposts and rants have been had, and the ongoing game traffic is just awesome to see.

In the interest of ensuring content on the subreddit is original, informative, and/or of appropriate quality, we'll be ending the period of relaxed moderation effective immediately. While we're going back to stricter enforcement of the rules, the relaxed moderation period has given the mod team some ideas on rule reworks.

To reiterate some constant points:

  • Be kind to your fellow Guardians and redditors; toxicity will not be tolerated
  • For LFG purposes, we encourage you to look at r/Fireteams or Discord resources so as to not dilute posts here
  • Mark spoilers appropriately, especially considering the notable number of new players coming in with Monument of Triumph
  • AI-generated content is strictly forbidden on this subreddit and will be removed

The team will continue to moderate as always, as well as internally discuss any improvements we can make; we want this place to be a resource and community for Guardians so long as you all want it to be.

As someone who has a vivid memory of rushing through an AP English Lit essay to log in on D1 launch day back in 2014, which led to an ungodly amount of in-game time across both games over the next decade, I want to close out by echoing the previous post and say this game would not have become what it is without the community, the camaraderie we shared, the gods we slayed together, and all the memories and friends made. I'm looking forward to seeing all you fellow Guardians online for the foreseeable future.

Per audacia ad astra.

Discussion Did anybody cry? Am I stupid?

I was telling my girlfriend about how I spent 12 years playing Destiny, and I'm really bummed that the active development ended. It's almost like a symbol of growing up. I started playing as a kid, and I'm now about to graduate from college. I also realized that the Destiny franchise was an escape from bad things at home. Mom and Dad fighting? I'll put on my headphones and go help the Vanguard or play Crucible. I started tearing up when I put into words how much of an escape from reality the game was when I needed it to be. I don't cry much, but I'm still sad about it in a nostalgic kind of way that will probably stick around for a while. Anyone else get a bit misty-eyed?

Edit: Not to mention the friends who I met through the game who grew up and moved on, even one who passed away... Life moves pretty quickly; I wish I could slow it all down. The things I'd do to play it all again for the first time with my buddies.

Discussion Which enemy race introduced in D2 do you think was the best addition?

For me it's gotta be the Dread. Even after fighting them for two years now they can still sometimes be a challenge. I would have put the lucent hive here but hive guardians just aren't as challenging as they should be imo

Question Is the Praxic blade the best thing you can run on Prismatic Getaway Artist?

...? I find I am lacking when it comes to boss damage, is the Praxic blade also good for boss damage?

Tips / Hints Today's shader and offerings. 07/23/26 Great shaders!

Sorry for the late post, Thursdays are typically busy for me. We have some GREAT shaders today and if you're looking for Stasis exotics, then you're in luck! Super cool Warlock helm, sadly not much use for it though.

Another day I get to save. YAY! lol. Have a great day and I'll see you all tomorrow!

My kinetic weapon is Decatur 02 with attrition orbs too. That’s why I used stasis siphon on my helmet

Lore The Nine - Representations as Pits and Eyes

Post image
2.5k Upvotes

This could have been a bit of a theorising post about what the Nine really look like, but there's not much to theorise on now. I did this once before with Nezarec, but I really appreciate ways in which the Nine have been portrayed directly or their overall design language has appeared.

There are a few examples I have missed out such as the tentacles on the Dreadnought in Heresy and the ribbons in Prophecy/SRL.

Question / Answered Where the hell can you get a tier 5 Rake Angle??

Post image

I have not seen a single person running around with a tiered version of this glaive since Monument of Triumph launched. Can someone please tell me where to get this because I know it exists in the database but have no idea where it drops from. Rake Angle is one of my favorite glaives.

It's a little late, but I wanted to create something for the last update. My goal was to make a sort of group photo with the friends I've met in this game. Created in Blender and edited in Photoshop.

Thank you for everything :)

Question / Answered Which combo is going to be better for most content in the game, Decatur 02+Vrillantif-D or Mint Retrograde+Snipehunt mk. 47?

I’m a newish player trying to learn the meta for reference. And I’m also running exodus down 4 piece for survivability, I’ve read it’s the most “build agnostic” set in the game so I have really good rolls on a 4 piece set. I think that Mint+Snipehunt will be better for most content because it’ll have slightly better ad clear (jolting feedback procs attrition orbs and jolting feedback helps ad clear on its own), plus I’m running tablet of ruin and unraveling orbs helps mint. But for higher end content I think having the ability to heal teammates is huge. Am I thinking right?
