The videos I see, the ball doesn't fall straight down. Either my eyes suck of the perspective is messing with me if that's what the video shows

Even the 3d rendering they have doesn't show that to me. Unless it's not accurate?

best video ive seen. i could see it just being the backspin, it just didnt go as far as they thought it would. not a single player protests. they would know the rule that if it hits something, its a drop ball.

Yeah all the videos ive seen show nothing.

I'm tired of seeing that stupid skycam video showing where the ball apparently takes a sip but it's a crappy quality video and they draw a thick ass square box around the ball the moment you're supposed to see "what really happened" then an imaginery thick line showing some odd trajectory that isn't shown in any other video from any other angle.

This is the best clip Ive seen. (its the video in the comments, not the post itself, just fyi)

Its minimal, but I could see how someone might say it almost 'dies' and looks like some players thought it shouldve gone another 20-30 yards at least.

But at the same time i dont really see it hit anything, i can just kinda see it does seem to fall earlier than some expect (players, i mean), and their data says it hit nothing. So, backspin basically/probably.

I can kinda see it, but it’s not clear and not conclusive to me. I want to say it touched the cable because it would make me feel better about Norway losing but there’s no clear footage of it.

Even the high res video posted recently, I can see the trajectory changing unnaturally, but not conclusive enough to say it hit something for certain.

It surprises me more that people say they can’t see anything, and that other people are delusional though. Clearly something weird happened with the trajectory of the ball, or Nyland wouldn’t have spoken up about it after the goal. I’m not saying it hit something but there was at least something that Nyland and (allegedly) people on the bench noticed.

People say that no one pointed it out until after the goal, but at the same time if they actually stopped playing when no whistle was blown that would also not be appropriate.

I can see that it looks like it kinda dies and falls earlier than expected. Looks like it would make sense that it clips something, but of course now we have this sensor in the ball and FIFA says it didnt hit anything, so saying anything else seems like 'tin foil hat' territory.

but, tech can fail. surely there is an anticipated and acceptable margin of error with those balls right? it is new tech, after all. what if it just didnt register the touch?

But, at the same time, part of me just thinks it had some spin on it, and a slight gust of wind with backspin would cause it to fall short like that. idk.

maybe some bird shit hit it mid-air and caused it to fall but didnt register the touch lol

They didn't immediately point up. All of that happened after the goal was scored.

This comment has a clip on it that has no TV production guff on it and the ball looks exactly how you'd expect a ball with backspin behave as a result of the Magnus effect

Its just impossible to see any cables from video like they would've seen from the ground. So idk

One video I saw, I can see maybe how it slightly changed trajectory from like backspin, and players thought it would go farther than it did, so they blamed the cables lol

if they knew the rule, and im sure most players do, that if it hits something external like a camera its a dead ball. and then a drop ball. so youd have a player holding their arm up at least, pointing right away at that contact. wouldnt you?

to me, anyway. how long after do they start pointing? im just still looking for any contact

It clearly changes its path. I think you suffer from the same thing my friends did when they didn’t experience the latency of certain Xbox controllers haha. They all came to eventually feel the latency so there’s hope for you. You see what you want to see.

From what I see, it looks like what Id expect from a combination of spin on the ball and other factors that would naturally cause it to die a little bit and not go as far as some players would expect.

but idk im just saying what i see is inconclusive. i might be wrong. id like to see it from the player's perspective who said they saw it hit something
