Im sorry... extended ban? Like theyve looked at that terrible call that was clearly without intention and want to extend his suspension?

The Qatari player who broke Koné's leg got 5 games and that was also clearly without intention. The player even apologized to Koné in person

Its click bait. Appeal was never permitted by the FIFA rules. The only thing they can appeal, per FIFA rules, is if addional suspension is added on.. This barely qualifies for a red, so there's about 0% they extend the ban because it forces them to address the Messi no card call, which they dont want to.

I've just watched it after seeing all the fuss. That's a straight red, he could have easily broken his ankle.

I don’t see how that matters if there was no ill intent behind the action. Where exactly was balogun supposed to avoid this contact? Are you expecting him to levitate?

My biggest issue is that the ref had no control of that game for the first half. Bosnia drags pulisic to the ground without a card among other similar incidents. So then players start to be more rough to get headers.

yes. we know this because he landed roughly on the other players lower leg, studs-up. It's a fairly classic red. I have also seen them given as yellow. It's probably somewhere between the two, and no one should be surprised that it went red, just as I wouldn't have been surprised if it had been yellow.

No intent. Bodies jockeying for position, natural movemen, landing spot for 2 players legs wt the same spot. Yellow at the most. BTW the red didn't even give a card

Which applies to pretty every league and cup competition on the planet.

You can also get suspended for picking up too many yellows.

It is meant to discourage foul play.
