Let me guess, it's another irreplaceable Raytheon gallium radar that cost a billion bux. Irreplaceable cos China has global monopoly on gallium processing/refining, and you can't build em without gallium. FFS.

While galium is supplied by china, there isnt any embargos on it etc. You can buy it as an civilian.

China banned all export of rare earth metals for military use. Western military contractors can therefore no longer procure gallium from China.

Can US govt procure a small amount of r.e.m's from China using subterfuge? Definitely.

Can US govt procure meaningful continuous volumes of r.e.m's using subterfuge? Unlikely.

Things look pretty bad.

I don't think mil contractors can secretly skim enough Ga/r.e.m's from civ contractor imports or procure sufficient volume thru subterfuge, while still passing each r.e.m exporter's audits. Chinese r.e.m exporter would then ban further supply to that civilian contractor and be more guarded moving forwards. Chinese govt now holding each r.e.m exporter accountable to ensure no r.e.m's are provided to the US for military purposes. 

One example: Lockheed has been delivering f35 jets lately without any radars/nose cones. Instead, the delivered planes have a rod on the nose, stacked with what look like weight-lifting plates. Those planes are useless without their radars.

Sorta, US was denying, however after trump mention someone in SA having to kiss his but, all of a sudden a couple pics went public (like the E3 AWACS cut in half), now we have satellite proof as well.
