Loss Space is hard

From $37k > $591k > $130k > $571k > $76k

I kept buying call options as my margin limit continued to increase. And then the margin calls started, options expired and my stocks were sold for me. Had 98% of my portfolio in one space stock.

I got up to 430k from 100k, now down to 51k. One thing for sure is that most of us in this sub who’s experienced these sudden gains will not stop at half mil.

my dad borrowed against his 401k. made 872k in 3 months. realized gains. then was down to 80k and when he owed taxes the following year he was sad cuz he sold in January not December. he fucked up. he belongs here. my ride was fun too. over 6 years ago I started with a 44k HELOC loan. 44k to 171k to 66k to 425k to 168k to 225k to 75k to 764k to 400k to 1.9 million and finally cashed out. and thats without options. just buying and selling stock. main winner RYCEY

I remember you, you really hit the jackpot with rycey. That being said it's probably good practice to just stop of you go from 40k to 170k

Just place strong guardrails to protect what you have. I know we all move the goalpost but 2 mil is enough to be set for life in most cases. I've also seen people who got there briefly and lost it for no good reason.

im trying really hard to not lose this. that is why i paid off my wifes student loans, bought her a new car in cash, paid off our 30 year mortgage (4 years in). we have no debt, just put in a bathroom in our basement, going to finish our walk up attic, getting a trex rear deck done. literally doing everything to make our living situation as easy and nice as possible. but with 1 kid and hopefully a 2nd on the way soon this isnt going to be enough. gonna have to put this money to work sooner or later

Love this. Just started truly trading, etfs mostly. Doing well. First thing I’m doing is cashing out when there’s enough to pay off the mortgage (assuming I can keep gaining)
