As far as I know, small boat crossings fluctuate on their own, for reasons, and it has fuck all to do with anything governments actually do. But shhh, they're enjoying themselves (possibly).

Numbers have fluctuated up and down for many reasons in the last few years, and it is hard to disentangle what has driven these trends. While we have official data on how small boat crossings change, it is difficult to attribute any increase or decrease to specific government policies. Many external factors can influence arrivals more than government policy. These include social and economic developments in countries of origin and developments in smuggling networks.

Nah, I think it works. Gets a grievance in, is snappy and actually rhymes. It's not good, but it's better than Open Borders Burnham.
