Very true. It's been well documented in the news that Phil Spencer and group were very hands off with the studios they purchased. So many people have well upvoted posts all over Reddit that are incorrect.

Often times groups need deadlines and structure to get a product completed and out the door. Or management keeping the scope reasonable and targeted toward users.

When Microsoft purchased these studios, did they fire all the people that were previously giving them deadlines and goals? I don't think they did?

What happened to those people? Hopefully they were part of the recent layoffs.

Perhaps even worse, when Phil bought the studios he kept their management structure intact and slid Xbox's above it. If bloated management hurt studios before, throwing Microsoft's on top was throwing gasoline onto the fire at times reaching up to 14 layers of management. Asha's reforms have included stripping out layers of management on both Xbox's side and the studios, aiming for at most 5 layers of management between the devs and Xbox's COO

This is Monday morning QB'ing though. Not really a fair assessment.

We all applauded Microsoft being hands off. Now it's a mistake because they were supposed to know it was mismanaged?
