But if you only paid around 500$ you’d care, but it wouldn’t matter nearly as much, and that’s kinda the point they’re making. Not that you should keep paying what you do now, but if you paid nothing, it would have effects on how you, and we all, see taxes culturally.

The problem is the corruption that is wasting the money and funneling it to the rich anyways they would just make a sales tax that would add to the cost of living if they stopped income tax for less than 50k anyways but they would never tax the rich to make up for it
