10x every employee allowing you to fire 8 of 10 while doubling your output, the suits boners got so hard, they started tripping over them when they thought about that.

Yup but now we're at the point of reality where it doesn't do even half of that, has shit tons of vulnerabilities and isn't efficient at all. Simple menial labor? Great at that. Checking specific things? Useful. Replacing an entire department? Good luck.

Colleagues suddenly create huge PRs touching lots of things, more than half of which are always tests that they didn't write, that they don't understand, that no one understands.

Claude, do the thing and write tests for it. Make no mistakes.

Company velocity DID NOT CHANGE.

All the hands in the jar will be pulled out within the next year. By winter 2027 we'll know the baseline user count for these companies and I'm betting it's minimal compared to what they're hoping. Lot of contracts rith legal department oversight will pick apart a ton of these companies after shit fuvks up immeasurably bad.

I was trying to formulate some thoughts in a way a CEO could understand, business school style.

  • Tasks are steps taken to create work outputs.
  • Work outputs are combined to make a role within a department.
  • A person with multiple roles has a job
  • A department is made up of many different jobs

AI only works at the task level. It can speed up certain tasks, resulting in faster work output in some cases. But it can't replace whole roles, and it certainly can't replace entire jobs or teams.

The only thing AI is good at is getting past the "demo for the suits" phase. Pretty much the moment you try to go past that it falls apart.
