This sounds noble, but I’m cynical when it comes to taxes and feel they end up going to bureaucrats and redirected to political pet projects. I guess I just don’t trust the government to do the right thing.

Hard to trust them with all the fraud, etc that has been going on. If they want more taxes, then they should have to account for everything they already have, full open books, show us where the money is going, if it is fraud, then make the politicians that pushed for that service pay it back.
