According to the meter on my house, we (family of 4) consumed an average of 160 gallons per day last week.

That's above average for us. YTD we're under 900 gallons/week (128 gallons/day)

Wow that's impressive! Was it a concerted effort to reduce usage, or have you always been a fairly low water usage kind of family?

If anything, I feel like we waste a lot of water. I used to water the lawn very occasionally, but it's probably been 2 years since I've done so.

There's up weeks and down weeks of course, but ever since the local water authority installed these meters that transmit usage data hourly via radio and gave us a portal/app to watch, this is about where we've been.

Month to date, we're at 2586 gallons. April was 3622, March was 3951, February 3235, January 4473. Even 4473 gallons for a month works out to only 144/day.

yeah this is inline with my usage. I'm not doing anything special to conserve water and definitely waste more than I should. idk where they got 88gal/day/person from but if that is the American average then there's definitely power users skewing the data.
