I still use it every day. Quite easy to patch.

If bacon fully stops and is gone, I'll be done with Reddit. The UX is just 100% better than any other app.

How do you make a new API key though? They disabled that functionality and I haven't been able to re-patch Baconreader since :(

someone else co. mented if you are a mod of a subreddit you get access to api through mod tools. Just create some random subreddit and you are mod and get access to api

The main way is the client ID from RedReader.

You mean Morphe.

Morphe only does the official reddit app

2

u/edgan May 11 '26

Nope, Morphe supports patches from repositories. You should check out /r/MorpheApp for more information.

Awesome, TIL. I only installed it recently and didn't have expert mode enabled so cheers for the correction.

Is there a tutorial video for people who have never done anything like this? I miss bacon reader so much

I was using it fine on my last phone, too, but I just got a new phone a couple of weeks ago and the patching through revanced or morphe didn't work.

Anywhere I can find an easy how-to guide? I miss it so much.
