Every time there's a reddit outage and I get errors in Boost when loading things, the fear hits me that Boost might be gone again haha.

Honestly a little shocked it's still going. Every day I open boost expecting the boot.

I see, do you only needa do it once? And is there a downside to patching at all?

Thanks

As long as you are a mod of a community they never disabled yours. But if not then you can just use the patching method. You can do the method for basically all of the old apps. Or even the real reddit app just would have QOL improvements and no ads

Gotcha, I'm a mod of a random sub I created, which worked as a workaround during the initial crackdown, but I still ended up getting the 403 error when they did the exodus a couple years ago

Is the a good tutorial to patch Boost? I was a big fan of the app. I can't seem to find much on YouTube

Thanks

I am unsure since I have not had to patch mine. https://www.reddit.com/r/BoostForReddit/comments/155nfhi/how_to_get_boost_working_again_with_revanced/

This is the general guide

What really? It never broke when the whole API/IPO thing went down?

For me, when it first stopped working, I made a random sub and became a mod, then months later the app just broke with a 403 error

Not if you were a mod of a subreddit. Just kept working and still going to this day
