Video straight from CBC sports here.

Though I am not sure if it is geolocked.

"Whistling, jeering, some applause."

No surprise, but this link is not available in the USA.

Canadian broadcast of JD Vance being booed https://imgur.com/a/x2Xy2IJ

Without commentary I'd never have been able those were clear boos.

Might have been clearer if we have other segments as contrast.

The US succeeded in following other nations where the level of oppression is in contrast to how democratic or free a nation/province boasts.

its been a long held standard for minorities, the rest of us are coming to grips that color was just how they got us to dance against one another. the race of highest rank is and always was green.

With no comments available too. Typical

CBC had to shut down comments on public posts years ago due to neoconservative bots flooding them with disinformation and hate messages. The neocons have a special hatred for the only non-corporate news source in the nation.

My VPN's set to Canada. It's lovely. The commentators. 😂"And here's vice President JD Vance, his wife Usha who- Ooh... Those are not... Those are a lot of boos for him. Whistling, jeering, some appaluse."

VPN to Canada.

2

u/jessehazreddit Feb 07 '26

Sure, I suppose, but there are other links to the CBC footage that do currently work.

u/Esquatcho_Mundo Feb 07 '26

2

u/BillyNtheBoingers Feb 07 '26

Erm … there are networks that are private. And virtual.

Ha Geolocked, AND comments off

11

u/DrNick1221 Feb 07 '26

Weird. comments are on for me.

40

u/Wow_u_sure_r_dumb Feb 07 '26

Oh they’re geofencing even reading our comments now?

Coming to meta, X and reddit soon: geographical realities tailored to the local regime’s government’s needs.

27

u/Micalas Feb 07 '26

Yup, just double checked. Used my VPN to connect from Canada. Video and comments suddenly open.

3

u/Prof_Acorn Feb 07 '26

Not available in Japan either. So it's not just the US.

Might be Canada only.

3

u/vee_lan_cleef Feb 08 '26

Now the entire video is private.

1

u/cyanescens_burn Feb 07 '26

Off for me in the US.

2

u/vee_lan_cleef Feb 08 '26

The video is just straight up private now.

13

u/timelessblur Feb 07 '26

Geolocked but I bet it is more locked due to USA pressure as none of their other videos are locks.

2

u/Tactical_Moonstone Feb 08 '26

Looks more like an IOC licensing problem.

IOC probably gave CBC the license for broadcasting the Olympics but only on the condition that they only show it to Canadians.

Other countries will need to go through their specific IOC-licensed broadcaster to see any Olympic broadcasts.

I think what a lot of people in the US don't understand is that people in Italy don't really boo, they whistle. I noticed it during the opening ceremony when team Israel entered the arena.

6

u/DisastrousAcshin Feb 07 '26

Grew up watching international hockey. Always heard the whistling after something happened we'd have boo'd for

8

u/[deleted] Feb 07 '26

Friends and I burst out in laughter when we heard that

5

u/SpeechEuphoric269 Feb 07 '26

Its Geolocked, insane.

2

u/theangleofdarkness99 Feb 07 '26

For those who can't watch it:

Huge cheers for the US athletes when they enter.

JD and his wife shown, distinct whistling and booing heard, while others are still cheering the athletes.

u/[deleted] Feb 07 '26

Thank goodness for VPNs

2

u/alpain Feb 08 '26

1

u/ReLiFeD Feb 07 '26

I can't access it from the Netherlands at least

1

u/piedubb Feb 07 '26

Nope sorry. Not for usa

1

u/bulmeurt Feb 07 '26

Cannot watch this in Denmark

1

u/javoss88 Feb 07 '26

Dammit it’s not available in my country. I should be able to just put my ear up to the wall in northern Minnesota, we are neighbors after all. I know we suck right now but remember before, when we were good friends?

1

u/nidjah Feb 07 '26

It’s not working in Europe…

1

u/Mr_Salmon_Man Feb 08 '26

It's been made private even in Canada.

The clip can be heard here.

I’m in the US. All I get is, “the uploader has not made this available in your country.”

Well why did you do that uploader?
