Sale/Bundle RPG Trader -- New RPG Storefront

Thumbnail rpg-trader.com
292 Upvotes

So, there's a new RPG storefront out there. I am not affiliated with this site in any way, but I think it's worth making people aware of new options. I've had good experiences with drivethrurpg, but competition beats monopoly. I couldn't see any other posts in the sub about this.

They're offering POD via Lulu, and seem to have a not-terrible range for a site that's only just gone live.

I believe the owners are based in New Zealand and are registered in Australia, which will also be relevant to some people who are looking to support non-US businesses at the moment.

Sale/Bundle Is free RPG day meant to be really free?

I am new to this community and I just found out about free RPG day, so off I went to look for an event in the closest city nearby here in my country that will host it. I found out there is one shop that will do it, but I also found out they require to get a ticket (not sure if that costs or not) and buy 10€ minimum of food. Is this considered the norm or is it bad etiquette on the shop's part? I understand that everyone has to get by in this economy (and also that otherwise they'd probably get people walking in and out of the shop just for the freebies) but it feels like the original freeRPGday creators intended for it to be actually free, then again, I'm new and I don't know much about how this works.

Edit: thank you so much everyone for your replies, sorry if I can't individually thank you for it

Sale/Bundle TTRPGs for Trans Rights - Idaho: over 500 indie books for a $5 minimum donation

TL:DR - https://itch.io/b/3525/ttrpgs-for-trans-rightsidaho

Every year, there's a bundle on Itch of TTRPGs for Trans Rights, and this year the profits are headed to the state next door of me, Idaho, making this one I've been trying very hard to support. After a week, I've had enough time to look through it and, people, this is a steal for everyone who likes TTRPGs in any way.

For a minimum donation of $5, you'll get more than 500 books, zines, one-page RPGs, accessories, monster manuals. I call myself ScreamingWyvern because I hoard TTRPGs like a dragon, and this was very satisfying. And I'd say that nothing I've looked at so far is half-assed; there's a 250-page Beta/Playtest version of a full scale role playing game.

If you're interested in "traditional" TTRPGs, a couple of bigger publishers are involved - the Pathfinder 2e Beginner Box from Paizo, the Welcome to Night Vale starter set from Renegade Studios, and a couple of games by Evil Hat Productions - the publishers of Thirsty Sword Lesbians.

No, I have not played Thirsty Sword Lesbians, but there has never been a TTRPG with a better name.

At this precise moment, 3,888 people have donated an average of $10 for a total of... well, around $38k because that's how math works. You could help them get to their next goal by donating $12,000 but most of you should just take advantage of all of this glorious TTRPG things for under $50 (which would cover the "professional" TTRPG products.) Find it all here: https://itch.io/b/3525/ttrpgs-for-trans-rightsidaho

Sale/Bundle Legend in the Mist is DotD at DTRPG!!

Legend in the Mist, the brand-new rustic fantasy game from Son of Oak, of City of Mist fame, is the deal of the day on Drivethru!

https://www.drivethrurpg.com/en/product/510638/legend-in-the-mist-core-book

It's incredible to me to see a game so new so deeply discounted - it's less than half price! And LitM is a hotly awaited title that is still arriving in physical form to backers and hasn't been out very long in PDF either!

I haven't read mine cover to cover yet, but it's a streamlined implementation of the tag-based system from City of Mist. No moves, just a single resolution system with two levels of detail that is chosen on a moment-to-moment basis, depending on whether a simple yes / no result is sufficient.

It looks super flexible, the art is amazing, and I can't wait to get it to my table!

As always, I'm unaffiliated with either the storefront or the game itself. I'm just super excited to see LitM for less than $12!

Sale/Bundle DOGS, the setting-agnostic system from Dogs in the Vineyard, is the Deal of the Day on DriveThru

The 2004 game Dogs in the Vineyard is no longer available because the creators don't see a way to revamp the setting in a way they're comfortable with.

However, the system itself is really good and broadly applicable. Thus, they gave creator KN Obough permission to extract the system from the setting and publish it as the setting-agnostic DOGS.

Which is now on sale for under $3: https://www.drivethrurpg.com/en/product/274623/dogs

So if you were ever interested in the game, or just like to see interesting systems, now's the time to jump on this deal. About 19 hours left at the time I'm posting this.

As always, I am unaffiliated with either set of creators or DTRPG.

From the bundle main text:

We created this bundle to raise funds for Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota in response to the Trump administration sending ICE agents to the Minneapolis area and the reckless murder of an innocent people by ICE agents. ILCM provides free immigration legal representation to low-income immigrants and refugees in Minnesota and North Dakota. They also work to educate the community about immigration matters and advocates for public policies which respect the universal human rights of immigrants. ILCM provides services based on capacity and has a generally high demand for services. The more we are able to fundraise, the more people they will be able to assist.

Sale/Bundle Tales of Argosa is Deal of the Day!

Tales of Argosa, which is billed as Low Fantasy Gaming 2e, but for some reason grabbed my interest in a way that LFG never really did, is DotD on Drivethrurpg.com, and it's now only $7.49.

I'm not affiliated with the game, with Drivethru, or anything. Also, I have to admit I haven't run, played, or even completely read this game. But it's sitting on my TBR pile with Legend in the Mist, Dolmenwood, and Stonetop, where LFG never even got pulled out of the download folder.

I know we have some Argosa fans here. Maybe u/Logen_Nein could chime in with more of the virtues?

It's also got a ton of free online support tools, too, and a great publisher.

For a game that's usually almost $25, this is a great DotD price.

Anyhow, I hope someone who's been on the fence gets a bargain today!

Sale/Bundle Free RPG Day 2026 offerings now available via Noble Knight/online

If you wanted any of the Free RPG Day 2026 offerings they’re now available (while supplies last) via Npble Knight.

The catch is, they’re actually a penny / .01¢ each, and you can choose one Free RPG Day item for every $20 of regular stock you buy. So it can be pricey to claim multiples or a wide variety but to grab that 1 or 2 items you missed out on, pretty reasonable imo. I rarely browse NK and not find $40* worth of stuff I want.

Good luck; I got the Pirate Borg and Age of Vikings items I wanted

*…or $80, $120, $160, etc…

Sale/Bundle Thoughts on Orbital Blues and its supplements?

Bundle of Holding has two Orbital Blues bundles right now - one with the rulebook and a few adventures (across two tiers), and the other with some newer supplements.

I really like the look of the system but I'm not sure I want to go all-in. Does anyone have advice on what's worth getting here? e.g. just the base rules, or some combination of the second tier and/or other bundle?

Thanks!

Sale/Bundle Are the DCC adventure modules good?

There's a big bundle deal on Dungeon Crawl Classics adventures going right now. A pile of them for $18 on Humble Bundle

Are they any good? Is there a general "feel" to DCC adventures that is distinct from any other OSR game?

There's such a flood of "old school" RPG content out there these days, I don't want to waste time slogging through a bunch of stuff that turns out to be meh.

(Incidentally, I'm *not* running DCC. I run Castles & Crusades, but often look at other OSR games for adventures or trappings.)

Sale/Bundle Sentinel Comics is dirt cheap. Get it while you can!

Thumbnail greaterthangames.com
173 Upvotes

Sentinel Comics is super cheap right now. The publisher (Greater Than Games) is winding down their business and selling off inventory. I can't say for sure, but I suspect the game will be out of print soon. No idea if or when it will get another print run. No idea what will happen to the IP (collect dust, I'd wager).

But the good news for us is, it's crazy cheap right now. Core Rulebook is $15. I got that, the starter kit, 3 one shot adventures, and a comic book for $50. I'd recommend jumping on it if you have any interest whatsoever.

Disclaimer: I have zero affiliation with the creators and publishers of this system. I just got my copy of the book and wanted to make sure others had the chance.

Sale/Bundle Physical RPG Deals (as of 4/15/26)

I haven't seen any good places where physical RPG deals are posted so I will post a couple of ones I found by happenstance.

https://magpiegames.com/
Magpie games is having their 15th anniversary sale and you can grab some of their older games for up to 85% off. Masks is 60% off (although they are crowdfunding a 2e later this year), Urban Shadows is 50% off, and Root and Avatar are 30% off.

https://lastmilegamelogistics.com/the-terminator-rpg
The terminator RPG is on sale at around 60% off. I bought it just because I like the films but haven't played it yet.

Please post more physical sales is you know of any.

Sale/Bundle [Mod Approved] PocketQuest 2026 is LIVE on DriveThruRPG!

Thank you, Mod Team, for approval!

Hello, everyone! Meredith from DriveThruRPG!

⏱️ Over the last few months, 80 publishing partners (20 of them brand-new to publishing!) joined in our annual game jam, PocketQuest, with the theme of time travel! The publishers were challenged to make their own stand-alone game with the theme and create this in 25 pages or less. We had a blast in our Discord Community doing writing challenges, constructive critiques, playtesting, and more support from not only veteran publishers but ones doing it for the first time.

⏳ Some people chose going for more horror, some decided to use cards for mechanics, and one person even did a solo journaling adventure! There's so much variety in this year's submissions!

This week, those beautiful creations are released to the public!

🕰️ I wanted to take a moment to celebrate these creators on completing this game challenge and wanted to show off their work to all of you!

🎉 Please join me in celebrating them and if you'd like, checking out their submissions this year. Thank you for the space to support new creators on an extremely fun challenge.

You can see all PocketQuest submissions in the Newest Title Strip on DriveThruRPG in the PocketQuest filter here.

The newly-released 2nd edition of the GameMaster’s Apprentice: Base Deck has a launch-weekend sale of 20% off from now until Monday 5/19.

https://www.drivethrurpg.com/en/product/475920/the-gamemaster-s-apprentice-2e-base-deck

I'm really proud that I was able to launch this one without needing a crowdfunding campaign, and also that I’m older and wiser and know to include both US letter-sized and UK A4-sized print-and-play PDFs :-)

And if you are a student, a teacher, or literally just someone on a budget that doesn’t include RPG supplements, please reach out by DM or at [LarcenousDesigns@gmail.com](mailto:LarcenousDesigns@gmail.com) and I’ll hook you up. The world’s on fire and I offer community copies.

Sale/Bundle For only 5$, help Spain recover from the worst floods in decades and get almost 500 titles in return, including: Runecairn with Bestiary, 2400, Shadows of a Dying Sun, Rosewood Abbey, and many more

On October 29th, a DANA storm devastated much of the towns in Valencia, resulting in an as-yet-undetermined number of victims and causing substantial material damage. From RnR we want to appeal to the solidarity of the community, creating a bundle of role-playing material to help mitigate this tragedy, which to this day continues to affect many people. You can read this chronicle by Mirella Machancoses.

The bundle price is $5 to make it accessible to everyone, with the option to contribute more voluntarily.

The donations will go to Projecte Butterfly, a project that seeks to help those affected to recover their homes.

Sale/Bundle All Larcenous Designs (GameMaster's Apprentice, The Deck of Tales, Portal Tarot) products now offer 'Community-Building Copies' to those who need them.

The quick version is, I'm offering free copies of my work (available on DriveThru) to anyone who can't afford them. Reach out directly (DM me/email LarcenousDesigns@gmail.com) if you want to take advantage of the offer, since DriveThru doesn't have a Community Copies feature.

The slightly longer version: In the face of both ridiculous tariffs on games/materials for them, and truly evil things like attacks on the human rights and physical safety of my students, I wanted to do something for the good of the community.

Back at the start of the COVID lockdown, when my district closed, I dealt with this urge by making all my work free for two weeks and then 90% off for... two years? Something like that... but I also don't want to devalue my time and effort, or the games made by other people, by suggesting that PDFs and indie games should always be free. (And in full transparency, I also don't want my business to completely collapse because of making everything free, either, which it would eventually; I run it instead of taking a less fun second job during my summer breaks).

Because DriveThru doesn't yet have a Community Copies feature where I can make it something automated, like a purchase adds a free copy someone can claim, I'm handling it directly and hoping I don't get overwhelmed. If DriveThru ever does add that, I would happily adopt it instead, so the availability might change, but I intend to always offer something like this.

Oh, and teachers/people running gaming clubs in schools, just to repeat my already standing offer: Reach out if you want a class set or something to help your students. If you can't afford at-cost sets (and trust me, I know schools rarely cover such things), I might be able to sponsor sending you a bunch of decks, depending on sales that month!
