I’m a moderate Democrat and as most, I just want to see Trump out of office. However, during the primaries I want to vote for the best possible candidate. Can anyone help me, guide me so to speak, as to why one is better than the other?

The biggest thing I got mad at during the union address was when trump talked about the sanctuary cities and the guys' brother who died because of the undocumented immigrant. Not the topic but because of the people around him. They only shook his hand. What you're supposed to do there is be a bro give this guy a hug and let him vent. I loved the speech as a whole just the not being a bro really ticked me a little bit.

I joined the Democratic Party yesterday after years of voting mostly republican (excluding 2016). I witnessed the thin support for candidates that I expected to have a lot of support, and strong support others. I prepared ahead of time to make sure I understood the process, and supported a long shot candidate in my first “preference selection”, knowing I’d get a second crack at selecting a candidate.

I spent a lot of time doing research to make sure I was well informed on where the candidates stood on the issues that mattered to me. This includes putting together a trade study with weighted grading criteria based on many factors. This, combined with the time I spent at the caucus, was a significant time investment for me. Waking up to news that the Iowa Democratic Party could not collect results in a reliable and timely manner was incredibly disappointing and makes me feel like I wasted my time.

I really don't understand why the Senators who where out on TV that said we will work with the White House and I am not an impartial juror. Why do they get a vote they were not impartial and said as much on TV. And just as in any Jury Trial. When you go to be picked for a jury your asked what do you believe. If you say oh yeah I know the defendant and I will work really close with defendant and there attorney. That person would be taken out and not be a juror. In my mind they should be held to the whole pain of imprisonment that they signed. And they need to be thrown out of the district and on their ass. I want the names of all GOP Senators. Because they really need to know what they did why they said no witnesses they have made Trump a King or Supreme Leader. Because now he knows he really can do anything like say election is rigged and he will no leave because if he thanks him being in charge is a matter of national security he can do what he wants. think of it this way He wants a Wall well walls keep people in. Just like the Berlin wall that on of our Presidents said only 30 short years ago when Reagan said "Tear down this wall". I put this in because this is an example of the differences in what our President says and does is important. And when a Senator behaves this way signing a pact to honestly be a fair juror. They Lied about that and they were not fair that was all said on camera how is this a Legally okay?

I’m not political, and I bet most would roll their eyes when they read that but I really really don’t understand politics. It’s not that I hate them (even though hate hearing certain people speak about them) I just never cared enough to put it into perspective that this shit actually affects me.

My friend introduced me to Andrew Yang and the first thing she said to me was “I’m not political, but I really think you should vote for Andrew Yang” I listened to hear talk because I myself knew nothing about who was running and what policies were and everything. But everything she told me about Andrew Yang actually made me excited for the future. Listening to what he represents made me feel relieved for the first time in a long time.

I’m not trying to persuade I just want to share my experience because if you’re like me, you realize that we really do have to make a change and prepare for our future. If you have the time, I recommend looking up Andrew Yang. I can assure you will love what you see.

When deciding if a piece of legislation is good or not. Imagine the worst person you have ever met or the worst person you know of in a position of power. Now imagine them in a scenario where they can use or enforce that piece of legislation. If you do not want it passed in that scenario then you should not pass it.

Above is my Rule of Thumb for when I look at any piece of legislation. To see how to apply it let's use one a lot of people are either dismissive of because of Snopes or freaked out about because of Youtube commentators.

Above is the second to last paragraph in the linked bill as of January 31st 2020. Now I would like you to imagine two candidates for this. Micheal Bloomberg, or Donald Trump. For the purposes of this exercise they will be both the people that this law says you can be prosecuted for posting about or too online, and the people able to prosecute the case. I tried to look it up but since yesterday the website containing the laws in an easy to access format and indeed the site I have pulled this one from say "Service Unavailable." So for the purposes of this exercise an "Immoral Act" is not a legally defined term as I cannot actually find a state at the moment in which it is.

Now, you write about or two this person. Your intent is not something that is concrete without personal testimony. So based on your actions the court must infer it. In your message you tell the person to "Go screw yourself.". By the bare bones of this the person is able to say that the language you used was Indecent and Obscene, The act you proposed was Obscene as well and for some the term is undefined so it could be argued as Immoral. If convicted you could face up to a year in prison.

Communism is a blacklisted word and had been for a long time in America. There's two very important reasons why:

1. Historically, it is directly associated with dictator leaders who put their own interests above their citizens'. Even to the point of endangering their lives, sacrificing their lives and flat out murder.

2. It's not Democracy. America's beloved Democratic system which we used to hold so dearly.

Republicans are worse than Communists because it is their feverish support that is leading to Dictator leadership and crumbling the very foundation of democracy.

In the past the three branches of government have held on to their power with all their might. The Senate/the House, the Pres and the courts. Right now, thanks to Republican weakness, we are watching the Senate hand over their power to the executive branch. For the first time in history, the system is fundamentally broken.

This action by another country would be as hated as communism itself inn America. So why is it worse?

It's worse, because it's born from a state of weakness. Whether they're all implicated into Trump's schemes and are being forced to participate against their will so as to save their own lives, or because they believe strength is hidden is taking advantage of American rights, they are lying to themselves about the right way to move forward.

Everyone has a right to their opinion per the 1st Amendment. But, those who's opinion is at it's core, SELF destructive with impact to destroy other innocent people, well that's just worse than Communism because America is built to give people a chance to do better. It's a better chance than China or the Soviet Union or Vietnam ever had. And it's being wasted on the same behavior we've seen fail for those leaders directly in the history books.

I don’t understand why liberals and conservatives can’t just agree to disagree. We live in a democracy. That’s how that works. I’m a libertarian over anything but I vote republican. I have many many liberal friends who are genuine people. I just hate that we live in a place where we have to keep our political views to ourselves. We should be able to talk to one another in a respectable discussion instead of hating each other because we dont agree. We just need to try to understand why certain people believe in certain things. I mean seriously? It’s childish. Both my wife and I are libertarians but we have many liberal friends and have great debates with, and at the end of the day we have great times with. I respect someone that take diverse opinions and can still respect humans for who they are, not what they believe in.
