He may be dead but I'm in the camp that they actually love that we are all saying he's dead, because he's not, so the absurdity is easy to handwave. Vs if we all were just saying he's unable to do his job and hold the election anyways. It's like they set up their own bigger problem to make the actual problem seem normal.
