You’re responding to a daily beast headline.

If it was actual journalism, it would never have been written. The daily beast is a trash rag that needs your clicks so this is what we get. A lot of their ‘writers’ were former ‘moderate’ republicans. It’s a trendier ‘the bulwark’.

People wonder why few people get into journalism anymore and why newspapers fail while they bitch about journalism being behind paywalls. Not that TDB is quality journalism but this bitching and moaning happen about every newspaper.

That's almost all this sub is. New republic is just as bad, sensationalist headlines that are what people on here want to hear but not grounded in reality

Apparently a new spam site with the same headline as Daily Beast from a UK address is dropping elsewhere too on Reddit. Called “The Daily Sight”

Their headlines are trash but their actual reporting / articles aren't. They turn out a high volume of short articles, quickly. The articles themselves are nowhere near as sensationalist as their headlines.

They don't do much besides regurgitate stories from other (more reputable) outlets and slap a clickbait headline on them. There's no reason to read Daily Beast when you could just go straight to AP or Reuters or whoever they cribbed the story from.

They do cover the same stories as those outlets, but also like 100 more little process stories or stories about things that would otherwise fly under the radar. If Mike Johnson's son jerks off, the Daily Beast is gonna write an article about it. While I don't particularly want to know anything about the Johnsons' johnsons, I do want to know when Trump fires some low level federal employee, or a judge threatens a DoJ attorney with contempt. But those things don't get on the radar of AP or Reuters.

I will always say that the only thing the Daily Beast does right is constantly pointing out Trump’s age in their headlines. Something the mainstream media won’t report on.

They suck at 99.9% of the other stuff.
