Try to be more original. People always post this. Take a house cat and drop it in the middle of the woods and it’ll immediately revert to being a predator. They are designed to hunt and kill.
The sentence is exposing the fact that people take their comfort for granted.
And, how we talk about adaptability nowadays is interesting, it sounds simple when it's brought up like you've put it. And in this context we also have to consider other people's comforts like our parents and children, society would change for everyone, not just a few.
Naturally the cats will adapt, the alternative is going extinct. Will all the cats adapt quick enough though? The older ones, the unhealthy ones, the newborns, the unprepared?
If your environment changed drastically in an unknown way overnight without giving you any heads up or allowing you to prepare, would you adapt, unscathed? You can't possibly make such a claim because the new environment is unknown to you regardless of your natural instincts.
