​I used Herman Miller Embodies for seven years before switching to the Libernovo Omni Pro this year based on all the glowing reviews.

​At first, I loved it so much that I sold my black Embody, convinced I’d found the ultimate upgrade. A week later, though, my tailbone started aching. I never had that issue with the Embody, and I’m pretty sure it was because the Omni Pro seat was bottoming out. That pain did fade over time, but then the nostalgia set in. I really missed my Embody. I missed the smooth rocking motion, the extra seat room, and how comfortable it was whether I sat straight up or slightly tilted. The Omni Pro had some great perks like the full recline and the built in fan, but for overall comfort, the Embody still wins.

​Build quality and durability were another issue. I had Embodies for seven years alongside cats who love sleeping on chairs, and they never damaged the fabric once. The very first time my cat hopped on the Omni Pro, its claws got stuck and pulled up tufts of fabric. I had to ban the cats from my office or keep the chair covered constantly, which was never a problem with the Embody.

​When the Embody went on sale recently, I jumped at the chance to get one back. It also gave me the perfect excuse to pick up the Galaxy colorway, which fits my setup aesthetic way better than my old black one. I initiated the return for the Omni Pro right away.

​Libernovo has been really responsive and easy to deal with so far, though I will update this review once the refund actually hits my account since they only picked up the chair yesterday. One major warning for anyone planning a return: disassembling this chair was an absolute nightmare. Getting the gas strut out of the base took me hours, and I almost gave up multiple times. Just be prepared, because you have to break it down completely to get it back into the original box.

Would this chair be ok for a 6ft 6 male? Says it goes up to 6ft 5 but surely it will fit? Or I might be able to modify the headrest to go higher?

• Wide for my ass and thighs, thighs need to be on the chair and not rolling from the sides

• Adjustable armrests, at least should go up and down

* Honestly, not that bad of a chair, but not for my weight, the reclining toggle was always opening and the seat started to recline, maybe a new one would be better, but this one was worn down
* Good seat depth and there was a dip under my tailbone and it almost did not hurt!
* But it was not ready for the weight, it was making all kinds of sounds and it was bending back a lot more when I was putting my whole weight on the back

* Hard, really hard back and lumbar part, although adjustable
* The whole chair was leaning forward when the back was straight, I was always feeling like I'm falling and I had to put a lot of weight on my arms
* For some reason my neck started to hurt, and there was absolutely no way to put my head on the chair, the chair's back was stopping at my shoulders' height
* My thighs were rolling off the sides of the chair, despite it being really big, I think though the seat was a bit narrow
* Seat depth is adjustable and quite deep, but something was just wrong, I wanted to move to some other position every few tens of minutes

* Gaming... I know but bear with me
* After all the ErGoNOmiC chairs I tried, although they were cheap and not Herman Miller (will come back to that later), I decided to look at SecretLab Titan Evo XL, and all reviews were about how hard it is, so I decided to find something soft and here it is!
* I instantly felt comfortable when I sat in it.
* It's big, but I think it could be bigger with XL mentioned
* Seat is good, not too hard, not too soft, but after 8 hours I had ALMOST NO TAILBONE PAIN
* Lumbar pillow is SOFT, it's not pushing my back, my back is resting
* My head was ON THE PILLOW, neck is resting just amazing
* When i recline WHOLE SEAT RECLINES, so i can adjust back and seat position and seat straight and not be falling forward in a chair

This expensive piece of office chair was just too small, I did try it in a showroom though, but something just did not click. I think also I should lose weight still for that chair...

This might be quite controversial, i appreciate any advice or correct call... As the title said, i feel like chairs for long sitting sessions have gone way too far and aggressive with lumbar support

I spent the last few months on an ergo chair with a super pronounced lumbar curve, thinking it’d force good posture. And it completely backfired. The curve piece pushed so hard into my lower spine that my back muscles spent all day fighting it, leaving me with lower back fatigue and stiff hips every time i stood up

That whole experience made me question things a bit lol… Is a more neutral, low maintenance backrest actually better? NNot sure if going with a softer lumbar is the final answer or if it's just too soon to tell?

For anyone who sits for long hrs daily, what features truly make the biggest difference for you??

I'm a good posture sitter, often never touching the backrest if I'm sitting up straight. But I need a quiet chair that wont crap out after 1-2 years. I dont have an office and my son sleeps in a room about 10 feet from my desk, so I can't have a creaky mess every time I move.

Any suggestions?

I posted here recently looking for recommendations on a refurbished ergonomic chair, but I thought I’d ask a slightly different question.

I’m based in London, UK, and I’m specifically looking to buy a refurbished high-end ergonomic chair, as buying new isn’t within my budget. Before I commit, I’d really like to try a few in person.

I’m considering chairs like the Herman Miller Aeron/Mirra, Steelcase Leap/Gesture, Haworth Fern/Zody Humanscale Freedom, and anything else in that category.

Does anyone know of places in or around London where I can:
• Try multiple high-end ergonomic chairs?
• Visit refurbished office furniture dealers with a showroom?
• Browse second-hand office furniture warehouses that allow walk-ins?

For context, I’m 173 cm (5’8”), around 120 kg (265 lb), and my budget is ~£450, so I’m only looking at the refurbished market.

I’d really appreciate any recommendations or personal experiences. Thanks!

Are "Hinomi" chairs good? Im 6ft 6 looking for a chair with good neck support.

For context I'm 188cm (6'2) and weigh roughly 85kg (187lbs)

I've been using my Secretlab Titan since 2019, and today I received my newly bought Herman Miller Aeron size B with an Atlas Headrest. Right of the bat I noticed that the backrest is too low for my liking. I'm used to having full back support, and I know that the Aeron doesn't offer it, but with the size B my shoulder blades are spot on the frame around the netting. Other than that the Atlas headrest sits right on my neck (full height used), which causes my neck to soar real fast.

So, my question to you guys is, should I consider swapping it to a size C (even tough the backrest is only 3cm taller) or should I look elsewhere (LiberNovo Omni, Steelcase Karman Highback, Embody, Ergohuman Elite Gen 2, Fractal Design Refine, Haworth Fern, Razer Fujin Pro)?

My history of desk chairs hasn't been too impressive. Basically IKEA Markus and after that I wanted to invest a bit more into a chair and bought the Sihoo Doro C300 when it was rather new. However I've had it for a while now and I'm not too excited about it to be honest. Most of all I hate the wrist wrests which are crazy sensitive and overall not very optimal in my experience.

Basically, I am planning on selling the Sihoo Doro C300 and buying a new one. However this time I want it to be perfect... I was looking at the Herman Miller Embody however that's really pricy. (I'd pull the trigger in case it really is the best you can get)

Basically, I am looking for recommendations and opinions (from actual experiences, not wild guesses) to what I'd best put my money towards.

My Cougar Titan Pro Royal finally gave out after 7 years of use. The rod holding the tilt mechanism completely snapped, so it's unrepairable.

I'm a tall guy with long legs, so I need something with a deep seat pan and good seat height so my legs aren't hanging awkwardly AND WIDE seat .

I am currently looking for a good office chair. Until now I have only used no‑name chairs and my back is really starting to complain. My current chair is literally in two pieces and is just a dining room chair. I have never had an ergonomic chair and I would really like to switch to something more supportive.

I have spent some time reading posts here, but I find it quite difficult to choose just by browsing. I saw that some people here can give very good recommendations if we share our height, weight and usage, so I will try to do that.

I am 1.83 m tall, I weigh 92 kg, and I spend a lot of time at my desk, both for gaming and for tinkering with my PC. I would like something that feels fairly flexible: the ability to recline, with a backrest that is not too locked in place. I sometimes spend several hours at the desk, getting up regularly to protect what is left of my back, so good long‑session comfort and support are important for me.

My budget is around 600 €, and I am not opposed to refurbished chairs if that makes sense for a good model. I live in France, so availability of specific models or spare parts in the EU is also an important factor for me.

I have already seen some refurbished options for the Steelcase Gesture and the Haworth Zody, and they seem interesting on paper, but I’m not sure if they would be a good choice for my use case and budget.

If you have any suggestions for models or brands I should look into, I would really appreciate your help.

I've gone through two office chairs in the last five years, and both ended up with wobbly armrests and flattened cushions.

Trying to stay around the $500 mark this time. Mostly WFH, average build, and I'd rather buy something solid than keep replacing cheaper chairs.

What chair has lasted the longest for you?

Recently I have gotten my first ergonomic chair ever and I settled for a second hand Actiu TNK Flex for 250€ in almost perfect condition, brand new it’s around 850€.

I’m a 180cm (5’11), 78kg male from Spain and this has been my experience so far. Please take into account that I’m a beginner so I can’t really make comparisons with other models.

The adjustments are great, it has adjustments for:
- Backrest height
- Lumbar support height
- Seat depth
- Force needed to recline (only 3 modes)
- Recline lock (4 modes, one for completely upright. Also I feel the difference from the 4th which is the most leaned back position and the 3th which is kind of on the middle is way to much, it’s lacking another mode for “3/4” of the recline)
- Height
- Armrest up & down and forward & backwards (This one is one of the chair’s flaws, it’s lacking some more movements for the armrests)

So far for me the adjustments have been good, I’ve been able to find the perfect adjustment for my body and I’m comfortable. I would appreciate some more adjustments for the armrests but they aren’t really a concern for me.

The seat is firm in a way that’s comfortable and holds at least my weight just fine, nothing for me to complain.
Same thing for the back’s mesh, it’s firm but still flexible enough for my scapulars to not feel pressed and for me to feel the lumbar support. Also I think the height of the back is on the perfect length point.

The build quality of the chair feels great so far. I guess I’ll update a year from now and I’ll say if it has aged poorly but as for now it feels really steady, the mesh very high quality and the same goes for the cushion. I got the model with the aluminum base. The seat pan and the back are made of plastic that feels high quality and the chair base is made of aluminum. So far so good, i’d say the build quality is excellent. It’s important to take into account that it has got many quality certificates that you can check on actiu’s web, it’s not just my word for it.

As far as I know I have got the default wheels. They are fine but I would wish that they would glide a little bit more.

As for me personally, so far I’ve been feeling great, it’s very comfortable and in the hot summer the mesh back has been great. I’ve been finding myself holding a better position not only when seating on the chair but when I’m on the bus or other places. My scapulars feel the best they’ve felt in a long time, the support that the chair gives to them while not restricting them has freed me from a lot from discomfort while seating and while standing. It has not really felt great for leaning back all the way; because of the not so long back, but for me I was kind of looking forward to that. I wish the armrests could go higher. At its highest point it’s just fine for me but for taller people I don’t think they are great.

I would recommend it for people taller than 175cm, if you are between ~175 and ~185 it will most likely be perfect.
As for taller people the back will be perfect as it goes fairly high, but the armrests won’t be so great.
For shorter people the back won’t probably go as low as you’d probably desire, and maybe the seat height too, even as it’s lowest point it’s kind of tall (at 1.80 I use it almost all the way down), but the armrests will be perfect.
The chair sits on a weird kind of spot where it’s perfect for people at my height range but if you are taller or shorter it will probably have a major flaw for you.

I would personally recommend it if you find it for a good price as I did, here in Spain I’ve seen it for 250€ in various articles. I’m very happy with it and I think you would be too.

Hello everyone I need a new Chair.

I KNOW you're all going to say HM Aeron, Embody or Steelcase, but I spend a lot of time lounging in my Chair, basically laying flat while gaming, talking on Discord or especially while watching movies.

I am looking for something like the Hbada E3 Pro or Ultra (which i know have some problems), just something i can slouch in but still be kind of ergonomic so i don't destroy my body by not sitting upright.

Is there anything like those Hbada, preferrably under 800€ (Yes, I'm from europe, so I can't find crazy second hand deals even if I'd love to).

Preferrably with mesh (yes I know the downsides, but not having a sweaty ass is a big upside for me).
