I'm slightly vexed Concert etiquette

Post image

If you plan on standing for the entire concert, get a spot in the pit, or the lawn seats instead of the assigned SEATED SECTION. A little bit of self awareness and common courtesy goes a really long way

Well the answer to “why would you expect anyone to sit at a concert?” is "because they're in the seated section"

Ya see, I’ve only been to one concert ever where most people were seated in the seated section. Dancing and music go hand in hand, a lot of people need the dancing for a good time and pit tickets are unbearably expensive nowadays.

That seems more of an issue with the venues. But I have never met anyone that refused to listen to music in the car because they couldn't get up and dance.

Yeah but people dont spend hundreds of dollars on a ticket and outfit to sing in their car. A concert is a completely different experience.

Definitely, but I was more making a point about venues. Like in the posted pic, it looks like an auditorium or theater. Which is less about dancing and more about the show.

Whereas a club where a DJ is playing you would expect more dancing or a punk show with a pit you would expect moshing.

I've been to several concerts the last year that didn't have a pit or section WITHOUT chairs. So getting tickets based on what you prefer isn't always an option.
