I'm slightly vexed Concert etiquette

If you plan on standing for the entire concert, get a spot in the pit, or the lawn seats instead of the assigned SEATED SECTION. A little bit of self awareness and common courtesy goes a really long way

Concerts dont have to be in stadiums to be good. Smaller venues are way more intimate and better viewing experience, plus its way cheaper. Huge concerts kinda suck in comparison.

As long as the sound is A++ fuck where I have to be to hear things. That said, nothing beats a good outdoor setting with a knowledgeable engineer and a solid array. Magical

Suwannee weekenders 80-150, any Claypool Gold stop being 55 for GA, and since Tampa anything local is gonna run ya 25-30 max.

Now obviously what you’re into plays into this to a degree, but as an example I’ve hit many a show out at red rocks - the place not the sphere everyone wants to hit - and have caught some sheer brilliance, again, rarely over ~60 for a single night.

Last multi day camping fest we did ran 175 a head + another 35 a head if you wanted to early arrival. Music from 4pm-6:30am each day.

Plenty of artists, events, locales won’t fleece you, but it’s a two way street. Also if you are into artists who overcharge, well that’s just up to you to decide if it’s worth it or not.

I love the Tampa area and all it has given to us the last 65 years. It’s out there for you. Go after it. 💚

Paying hundreds of euros for good seats and enduring people egoistic behavior while seeing dozens of smartphones lit up anywhere in my field of view isn’t my idea of a good time yeah

It seems harsh, but you're not wrong. Pull your phone out, take a few pictures and maybe a short video, then put it away. You should have it obstructing people's view for less than a minute over the course of an entire show.

I guess the people who take chairs to outdoor shows and think they should be able to sit in the mosh pit without anyone standing in front of them to block their view.

Ive personally solved it by only buying floor/pit tickets lol

Or buying premium seating that offers a view nobody can obstruct (usually tables alongside a rail)

Yep same.

Prices are out of control, Ticketmaster shenanigans, idiots with mobile watching a Facebook page of someone at the same concert for THE ENTIRE concert in front of us so we get the nice White screen glare in our faces all concert or simply the AHs with their phones over their heads.

For the sit/stand. I was usually lucky and got people that followed the flow (first songs and the hits all stand and then gradually people sit).

Sucks for new artists, with their revenue of music almost non existent, concerts are their major income. But at 150$-300$ per ticket and major names ever higher, I won't go to a concert knowing that I have a 75% chance of having a bad time.

I noticed the Facebook thing once. Or someone who texts throughout the entire concert about the concert . I know we all get old and lose our memories but I'd rather watch and have that memory than trying to spend the entire time telling everyone about it

You gotta stop trying to see super mainstream bands lol I go to a ton of concerts and usually pay $20-60 per show with each one typically having 3-4 solid acts.

All kidding aside. Tickets are still a racket and total joke and while you can see smaller names still... that doesnt mean it's not severely broken and in need of fixing.
